Is the device policy app safe?
Does it really block malware.
As a consumer, you are given a choice, the device policy or the operating system. If it's a third party it can be dangerous, but that was always the choice before and in fact, before Android devices were even available. If you're concerned about your data privacy, your security or your device being compromised, the answer may very well be yes. So, I decided to research this to find out whether any of the major antivirus or anti-malware providers claim the app is safe or not. What I found out is the apps aren't inherently dangerous. They can, but most do not claim the capability to actually protect against viruses, malware or cyber-crime. They are simply a way for Google to ensure we use our phone in a more responsible manner.
The Device Policy app is part of a suite of apps Google offers. The full package includes: Google Play Protect. Safe Browsing. Location Usage. Safe Search. Safe Download. As far as the app itself, it's safe. There are no known malware-based vulnerabilities, it has not been known to compromise devices, and in fact has the same level of security as the operating system (it is a third party app). This means there are no real threats to it. However, users should be careful because of that third party nature.
In fact, many people have installed the device policy app to take control of the device and prevent their kids from doing things they don't like. I'm not sure what the best solution is, but I think the solution is simple, let them learn it from a young age when they get into trouble. Let them know they need to speak up to get out of trouble.
There are actually several ways the app can work. It can block a certain app, block ads, keep an app from running in the background, or prevent an app from accessing certain information. Again, this is all done with the device policy app, not the operating system. Users can use any of these capabilities to make their device safer or more responsible. However, not everyone has it, so they are free to not use it at all.
Is it possible to install antivirus on the device?
Why is Android Device Policy on my phone?
I am receiving an alert on my phone saying "Android Device Policy" and I have no idea why.
My phone is an LG G6 with the latest Android update installed.
What should I do? It appears you have added an "Android Device Policy" (ADP) to your device, and this is causing you problems. ADP is a way to restrict what apps you can install on your device. It's actually fairly easy to remove the policy, but you have to know where to find it, as it isn't always visible to the user.
The easiest way to remove the policy is to go into settings > security > ADP. You can find more details about how to remove ADP here.
To add ADP to your device, you need to go to the Google Play Store and add a new application. It's important that you don't select a category like "system", or you will get an error message. Then when you start to install the application, you should be asked if you want to add it to your device.
How do I remove a device policy from my Samsung?
A device policy is a group of Android settings that are designed to make your device more efficient.
Each policy can set a different setting for the phone, such as changing how much memory the phone uses, which apps get priority when the phone is running out of battery, or even what sort of security features to enable.
From the home screen, you can tap on the "Settings" button and then go to "Device Policy." You'll see a list of all the policies on the phone. Tap on any of them to see more details about it. From here, you can tap on the name of the policy to quickly remove it, or you can also long-press on the name to make a call to your company support line to get some help.
This article will only be updated with new information about device policies for devices running Android 7.1 Nougat and higher. Older versions of the OS do not have these policies built into the operating system, but can be enabled on devices running Android 6.0 Marshmallow and higher. The same is true of custom ROMs like CyanogenMod that have their own set of custom device settings.
I'm having trouble removing a device policy from my Samsung. Here's what you need to know. First of all, device policies are only intended to be used by IT staff at businesses. You should never use a device policy on your personal device.
In addition, some Samsung devices don't allow device policies to be removed. Third, there's no easy way to do this. We've tried a few methods for making this process easier and can't find one that worked for us.
We've given up, and just let IT do their jobs. If we're doing the job right, we won't even have to see a policy at all. This means we won't have any access to them. It's easy for us to manage all this, so we don't need to mess around with device settings. In addition, we can also make sure that the business is actually applying these policies and ensuring that they're working as intended.
Finally, since these settings do affect the way your phone works, we recommend backing up your data before removing a policy. We'd love to show you some step-by-step instructions on how to remove device policies, but we just haven't been able to get those to work.
