Did you call customer care and ask them about the issue? The only way I know for sure that your T-Mobile service is working correctly is that it's still connected to the tower. Yes, I did call customer service. I had a data connection with my iPhone 6s Plus. I could see my email, contacts, web browser, and apps like Facebook, Twitter, etc. It just wasn't fast and I couldn't stream videos.
