How to log into xfinity WiFi hotspot?
I can connect to xfinity wifi hotspot, but can't log in to my account.
I tried entering the password and username but it asks for the wifi password which is different than the xfinity wifi hotspot password. I have tried resetting the device, connecting the modem directly to my computer and also resetting the modem, all with no luck. Please help.
I think you may have a problem with your wifi password. The Xfinity hotspot password is different from your Comcast account password. If you are connected to Xfinity via WiFi, it should be using that account information. You may have entered the wrong password in the Xfinity hotspot login page. Try resetting your Xfinity WiFi password and retrying the login.
If you can't login to the Xfinity WiFi network, I would contact Xfinity tech support and have them help you.
Are Xfinity hotspots still free?
Xfinity hotspots work just like they did in the past and Xfinity subscribers can still get up to 10 hours of free internet access per month but they are now subject to a usage cap of 10GB.
That cap increases with family size. For the largest families, usage is capped at 20GB. That means for a family of four, each member can enjoy 2GB per month. The company also says customers may be required to pay the full amount to retain their unlimited access.
According to The Verge, it's unclear how many new connections had been made under the no-charge policy, but the company said it had seen fewer new hotspots added each month. As always, Xfinity's hotspots are available for free on the company's own networks of wireless access points; as well as on city-owned public hot spots and other local wireless networks.99 per month deal for unlimited data on all hotspots. It was previously limited to one hotspot per customer.99 deal is not available on any commercial mobile networks, nor in the company's app, although it does work through the company's Wi-Fi network at McDonald's.
Can't access hotspots? If you can't find the hotspot near you, you can sign up for the company's VPN service and the hotspots become available. When logged in to the service, you will still be billed monthly for access to the hotspot.
Xfinity's offer is similar to services offered by Sprint and T-Mobile (although the latter offers more hotspots) and it's an important reminder that the next big battle between phone makers and carriers is a fight over Internet access. While Xfinity is offering cheap unlimited access to hotspots with just a few exceptions, rival networks will likely charge up to hundreds of dollars per month for the privilege of tethering something they haven't given anything close to market prices for. The company may end up paying off the subsidies it's offering, at least in the short term.
Why can't I connect to xfinity WiFi hotspot?
So this is a pretty common question among the Xfinity and Comcast customers that I see on this forum, but for the sake of completion I decided to write my own review.
I have Xfinity Internet through Comcast and I live in Pennsylvania. So when I say xfinity WiFi hotspot I mean the hotspots that they will place on your property for a fee. This review is for the one that I have been using and has always been fast and stable.
So my issue starts with my home network. We use two computers and I have a phone plugged into my router which is connected to a wireless router. The connection to the wireless router is solid as it is with all other devices on the network. But when I go to turn on my xfinity WiFi hotspot the connection only lasts a few seconds and then cuts out. I can't stream videos from youtube because it only lasts about 5-6 seconds and then I lose connectivity. My phone is connected via USB to my wireless router. It's not the USB cable that is the problem because it is always working fine.
This seems like a common problem but I've done hours of research and I can't find anything. It seems like everyone else has a similar problem. Some people just don't understand that xfinity WiFi hotspot are meant for streaming HD videos. If you need a hotspot for a phone or something like that then there are many other options that will work better for you. But as far as the streaming of HD videos from youtube, twitch, facebook, etc then this is just going to be a disaster. I will show you what I mean below.
1) I'm at a friend's house. He has xfinity WiFi and it works fine. It's able to stream video perfectly.
2) I'm at my house and it won't work. 3) I'm at my house and it will work perfectly. I can stream movies and video games without a problem.
I'm not saying this is a solution for you. I'm only giving a general overview of what I experienced and is why I have this issue. I just wanted to help if you were stuck in the same situation that I was.
So I thought that maybe my setup was preventing me from connecting to the hotspot.
