It might be a good idea to change your IP address for two reasons.

One because it will make you appear more legitimate and the other because it can prevent people from connecting over the internet with your IP number.

If you can not get a new IP address you can change the one assigned to your laptop. Go into your Control Panel - System & Security - Windows Firewall, then set up another rule in your firewall that allows external communications and set the IP address to change. If your router has an option for dynamic IP and it can change it for you (most do), make sure to allow that when you set it up. If your router does not have the ability to be turned on or off with a button on the router itself, you can do that through the configuration page on your router so that it changes for you.
