Why is Surfshark blocking my apps?
A few months ago we noticed a significant problem in one of our apps which was crashing frequently when a few users launched it.
We quickly realized this was happening because Surfshark, our ad network was inserting an tag at the top of the body of a website being viewed by a browser which redirected the user to the Surfshark page instead of to the app page hosted on our own servers. Our server logs showed multiple visits to the app page by people who did not end up actually going to our app. This is a big black mark for us since we need to make sure users actually get to our app. The problem was pretty big and affecting all Surfshark campaigns in Europe. After a while Google started showing a new error message saying: Your application needs a certificate for identity verification.
I was able to get an exact screenshot of the error from our web host who has the best service I've seen. A page on this website may be dangerous.

That did not work. Surfshark changed the way they were inserting tags in the body of a webpage and now it's extremely difficult to find out where exactly these tags are located in the page. The reason for that strange change is the fact that they have their own version of Chrome and Safari browsers that are specifically designed to sniff out malware. They have their own browser in which the tags are shown to be used by malware. These browsers then tell Surfshark. You don't need to have your own browser to block the malicious tags. There is a small snippet of code that runs within Surfshark's browsers to make the detection. It sends a special request to the page and checks if there are any tags inserted.
Why is Surfshark not working with YouTube?
It is a free plugin with a lot of good reviews.
Is this a problem with YouTube or is there something wrong with my installation of Surfshark?
We have recently received a very similar report that indicated that a video was taking much longer than normal to load in the browser. In addition, we were seeing a warning that YouTube's site-to-site protocol for encryption had failed.
We ran some quick tests to check the situation and discovered that this was a false alert, caused by an issue in the way that Adobe Flash was loading some third-party plug-ins. This caused the browser to display a warning that this plug-in could not be loaded. However, this was a false alert, because in fact, these third-party plug-ins were indeed loading.

Does Surfshark block YouTube ads on Reddit?

I've been looking into and trying out multiple VPNs to try and find the best one for me. One that I've really been wanting to try is Surfshark, but I've been hesitant to purchase because I'm a little leery of them blocking advertisements on Reddit.
I've done some research and have not been able to find any confirmation of this. I've even looked through their own support site and there is no mention of it. So my question is: Is Surfshark blocking YouTube ads on Reddit? If they are, can I simply activate another VPN in the background to get around it?
I have not tried the Surfshark Premium as the reviews for that have been mixed. I would like to try it before making a purchase as I'd like to know for sure it will block ads.
Sorry if this has been answered before, I've only just stumbled across this thread. I don't think they block ads on Reddit. I used to use Surfshark, but it kept disconnecting me from the Internet when I was streaming Netflix. I ended up switching to ExpressVPN and now I'm on a 30-day trial so I can see how it works. I'm quite happy with it so far, plus it's free during the trial period.
I think you might be mistaken. Surfshark blocks ads at the very least. I've used it in the past and there was no way to unblock it. I was using the premium service for that.
It's always good to be cautious when using any online service, but even though they advertise they block ads, you never know if they actually do. I've been using CyberGhost and have found no evidence of it blocking ads, however, it doesn't work well with Youtube.
I'm using Surfshark now and have been having no problems at all. It does say it blocks ads, but I haven't had an issue with anything yet. I am using it on the free version and have no problems with Netflix or other streaming services.

We block YouTube in three ways. The first is by blocking ads on the website itself. The second is by blocking ads that serve on any other website. The third is by using our own ad networks which are not the same type of ads that YouTube can show.
