Why am I paying for Total Adblock?
First, I'd like to thank totalfor supporting our work and this site.
In my opinion Total Adblock is a top-tier ad blocker and as such deserves some appreciation for their support of this project.
But why am I, a mere user who pays for nothing but Internet access, also paying for the features of an ad blocker? We have to ask ourselves a few questions: Who do we think we're helping by blocking ads? How many ad blockers exist for free at this point? If they all use similar techniques, then the block size they are reducing isn't even very significant. So who is the intended target audience for Adblock Plus or Total Adblock? I believe it's people who pay for their internet access. That means they can afford to block the ads on this site which include premium ads.
They also have the power to block the ads served by the websites they frequent. The more people who choose not to pay for web access, the more ad blockers will spread whether paid or free.
Is blocking an ad enough for this ad blocker? For one, it misses the point of ads: to serve relevant content, so that users don't feel compelled to click them. And more importantly, it fails to realize that the vast majority of ad blocks simply cut down the frequency of these ads, regardless of the ad type. This still leaves a large number of relevant ads in front of our eyeballs.
If we as a user don't want to see ads at all, why not just switch to a browser that blocks ads and sites from taking part in them? Most modern browsers block ads these days anyway (with exceptions). We already pay for the web access and get a full web experience, so it seems like we could easily skip the ads.
However, these are choices that are not as easy as they sound. Our web browsing depends on an ad-block free connection. These services don't seem ideal to me.
I believe ad blockers have the potential to become a very powerful tool for those who have been denied services, information, and the ability to participate online because of their race, gender, disability, etc. But ad blockers are being wielded against us now, rather than for us, even though many of them are free.

Does total Adblock work on YouTube?
I am reading a lot of different forums and not really sure what works and what doesn't.
Yes, it works. I have not tested it myself. It works on all my browsers and on the Android app as well as the website. I think that it might be a problem with YouTube though, since it does not work on any other websites.
What I can recommend, is that you download the uBlock Origin extension for Chrome, which will allow you to block the advertisements and remove the annoying sound on your videos. This will work on any websites where this is an issue.
Is there a way to completely get rid of the annoying sound on the videos while watching on the YouTube website? I don't want to install anything like ublock or whatever to solve the problem. Total Adblock does not work on the YouTube website. I tried it several times and it doesn't work.
Are there any other extensions/plugins that you can recommend? If you would like to help me, please post the link to the YouTube video, that you want to watch but with the annoying sound removed. Then I will try to help you as best as I can.
YouTube videos without ads, is it possible?
Does Adblock still work on YouTube?
My problem is that I can't get the Adblock Plus to work on YouTube.
My PC is a Windows 8.1, and I'm using Firefox with Chrome as a browser, but Adblock Plus was installed on Firefox. I tried both extensions, but nothing worked. Please help me out!
I have recently started using Adblock plus on YouTube. After trying all of the suggested methods on here and elsewhere I have been unable to solve the problem of ads not showing up on videos on the video sharing site. All of the extensions I tried have either crashed or not had the desired effect. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
I'm having a similar problem on Windows 8.1, Firefox, with the Adblock Plus and YouTube Extensions. Neither of them are working properly.
I've tried different addons that appear to fix the issue, but still no luck. I was using Adblock Plus, which didn't work, so I removed it and installed Adblocker Plus instead, but it's not working either. I've also tried disabling all the extensions that were installed when I first started using YouTube. I found some information that says to install a 3rd-party extension that will fix the problem, but I haven't been able to find one yet. I've tried to install the adblocker, and have had no luck. I've tried disabling all the extensions, which hasn't fixed anything, and have tried to reinstall it, and it isn't working either. I don't know what to do next.
I am having a similar problem. I am running on Windows 8.1 and I use Firefox 32.0. I am trying to use Adblock Plus to remove ads from YouTube, but whenever I try to add a filter, it says that the webpage has loaded too slowly, then asks if I want to allow a script to execute. When I click allow, the screen goes black for a minute, then comes back up and the filter list is empty.
I have tried installing a number of Adblock Plus add-ons, and they have not been able to work.
