Private Point-To-Point VPN setups fall into three categories: (1) Software only, (2) Software running via a remote desktop connection, and (3) Software running as a user application, such as iTunes. However, in this article, we'll address Private Point-To-Point VPN setups as any type of client software that connects over an IP over TLS/IPSec tunnelling session to a remote server. It is our firm belief that this type of connection is more vulnerable, and more easily attackable, than Direct Tunnelling or VPN tunnels.
