Can I use NordVPN on Opera?
My father is an Opera user and he keeps on talking about how good NordVPN is so it's high time I actually gave it a try.
Is NordVPN Opera friendly? I've downloaded the trial version of NordVPN and after a little bit of research and a test session it seems like it works great with Opera! The video was slightly jittery but the audio was clear and the speed and quality of internet connection were spot on. You can check out NordVPN on your phone at the NordVPN web site.
Why won't NordVPN browser extension connect?
My NordVPN connection keeps failing, and I cannot use it to connect to the internet.
The browser extension shows that my connection is connected, but when I attempt to browse the web, it shows that the connection fails, and that it is unsecured.
I use NordVPN on the iPhone, macOS, and the Linux Ubuntu desktop. I use them to connect to an ISP that gives me good speeds, but I have not been able to connect using any of the computers.
I'm not sure how to fix this problem. I've tried reinstalling the browser extension, clearing all of the caches, disabling/enabling the VPN, and also switching from a static IP to a DHCP IP. Nothing seems to work.
Hi! Thanks for your reply. I believe that the ISP that I am using is causing the problem, as it is very intermittent. Sometimes the connection works, sometimes it doesn't.
How to add VPN extension in Opera?
I am using Opera for more than a year now and always tried to use VPN.
I managed to make it work sometimes, but it was not very reliable for me. So, now I use Firefox with TOR and works great for me.
Anyway, I was thinking about for my own reasons. 1 Answer.
You can't. See the opera wiki page on plugins: You can't add extensions in Opera the way you can in Firefox, Chrome or Safari.e. Opera uses a different architecture.
What would be really cool, though, is if you could add extensions by using the browser's built-in proxy. For example, you might have a server at one of your computers which is your VPN, and have it listen on port 80. If you go to opera://settings, and hit Advanced Settings, you should be able to change what port Opera uses for communication. Then, if you can make that server forward those requests to the port you actually want to go to, then you should be able to use it like a proxy for any other sites.
Opera provides a good overview of how proxies work with their server here: If you can use your own server for this, and then make sure you set it up correctly so that people can actually access the site they want to, you'll be able to use it like a VPN. It won't be quite as fast as a VPN connection, because the Opera proxy connection will have to go through your own computer. But if you're on a LAN, it'll be faster than a VPN.
