Why isn't ABC working on Hulu?
I have an HDTV with a CableCARD that works on Hulu Plus.
But when I go to the ABC website, Hulu is not working. What gives?
Why wouldn't they be able to find a way to get into Hulu? They own the Hulu Plus programming. It's like how Comcast doesn't use the services you use. But you can buy their content.
The Hulu Plus platform was built by Hulu -- it is a completely separate entity from ABC. They are now using a different streaming distribution company than they were using in the past, but they are not integrating Hulu Plus into the ABC Player. This had nothing to do with any technical issues with Hulu.
I don't know how many times this needs to be explained, but if you want to watch Hulu Plus content (even though ABC produces most of it), you need a Hulu account. Why aren't some channels (specifically ABC) on HuluPlus and Hulu (or other streamers). Hulu is owned by the FOX company. They don't want to have Fox content on a competitor streaming service. So neither HuluPlus nor Hulu would let you watch Fox content, even if it is on the same platform, etc.
And they don't want to show CBS shows at a time other than prime time on Hulu either. Only in the daypart on Hulu Plus. It was more of a marketing decision than anything else.
When they said "Hulu" in the title of this thread, people thought they meant Hulu "Plus". The title is correct, Hulu isn't part of Hulu plus.
To add my two cents to this discussion, I use Netflix as my main service because I prefer the quality, and it's cheaper. But I do realize that others have other preferences and that's cool with me.
What is going on with ABC and Hulu?
I watched the last 3 episodes of Brothers and Sisters on Hulu, and it's been an amazing show.
I had to stop watching after the pilot episode because I just could not get into it. Then, I started watching again and found the first episode I was able to watch was episode 4. The whole thing has been a rerun. I never heard about this show until a couple of weeks ago, and then I got the first two seasons on DVD. It's been a very enjoyable show to watch.
I think it's one of those shows that is so good, people are waiting for it to fail. That said, I have no idea what happens to my favorite characters.
The show is basically being cancelled by ABC. They are cancelling it because they don't think it's doing well enough ratings-wise to continue to air.
I don't really know why it's being cancelled, but I guess it has something to do with the fact that I haven't seen the show in a while. It's been a long time since I've seen it, so I'm not as excited about it anymore.
That said, I am going to try to watch the last episode before the end of the season. Last edited by Lillian on Sun Jul 16, 2026 12:23 pm, edited 1 time in total. I've been seeing this a lot lately.it is getting a really strong cult following, but I really don't know why. I haven't seen any episodes in quite a while either, and I still think it's one of the best shows on TV.
What's going on with Hulu right now?
It's a site with an enormous collection of free TV shows and movies, the ability to watch it on your computer or phone and - perhaps most impressive - the chance to actually make money from it.
Here's how to do it. To redeem them, you need to click on the HULU menu on the home page and click "Redeem Codes". You can then use these codes on any accounts you already have with HULU including premium accounts, and even if your subscription is inactive!99 per month, that is half off the normal price. There is no contract commitment and you cancel at any time. I am currently trying to stream all of my DVR shows on Hulu, I am not sure what they will do with those, but it may cause me to cancel. If you want to get this it may help. I have not gone to this route yet, however I am on my quest to cancel my service now.
You don't have to cancel Hulu, you can take advantage of this offer to extend your premium membership to two years. That way you'll have something to stream over the next year. As long as you sign up between now and September 19th (or just after), you'll be able to benefit from this offer. So keep an eye on the site and be sure you sign up before the offer is over.
That is all there is to it. You won't have anything on your account or anything added to it. The only catch is that you must have a Hulu account to use this offer. If you don't have an account yet, just go to and sign up.
What is Hulu without live TV?
How a Hulu Live TV replacement could save your wallet, and keep you happier
Hulu, once the exclusive domain of streaming-only content, is slowly transitioning into live television.
Plus, you can easily pause, rewind, and fast forward through the action on the main screen.
It's one of Hulu's biggest selling points: You can live-stream everything you love about online TV no cable subscription required. But there's a catch. Unlike Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, Hulu has nothing to offer to cord-cutters who hate paying extra for channels they don't want or need. So how do you make Hulu into a viable option for live TV without dropping the price?
With the help of our sister site CNET's resident media expert Craig Richard, we've put together a list of ways to fix Hulu. The first step? Decide what you really need from live TV.
You're probably not watching every channel. If you don't watch every channel every night, why pay for an entire lineup of content? For some viewers, live TV is still the wrong choice for a primary streaming service even if it has all the big name channels available. It's an expensive option if you don't use it every day.
Hulu doesn't yet have a large selection of independent and smaller channels, which are often the best places to find quirky shows and other niche programming. Some of the more popular channels such as Fox, NBC, and CBS make it easy to find their regular content on Hulu, but for fans of smaller networks and local stations, the lack of a library of local channels is a major turnoff.
Still, it may be worth exploring. The company says that more than 75 percent of Hulu subscribers live in markets with more than 20 channels in their local guide, and that over half of Hulu's US subscribers watch every channel included in Hulu's local offering.
Even so, you're not going to find a huge selection of local channels on the platform. At the time of writing, the most popular local station, WPIX, isn't available.
