How to add VPN Server to Android? VPN connections on Android and iOS are limited to either L2TP or PPTP. While L2TP is the most secure, PPTP can offer better performance and more options. Both of these VPN protocols have their own benefits.

The primary benefit of L2TP is that it has much lower latency than PPTP. You can see this in Google's own apps, like Hangouts or Maps. With L2TP, your experience should be very smooth, no matter how far away you are from the server. PPTP, however, can handle higher-latency connections, like those made over a mobile network.

You can use L2TP/IPSec (Internet Protocol Security) for data encryption. That's a benefit when you want to have an encrypted tunnel to your company's network. It also works with other applications like OpenVPN, but it is much more complicated to set up and maintain.

PPTP is the same protocol as Windows 10, so you'll find many tutorials out there for setting it up. PPTP does not require an SSL certificate, so you can save some hassle. However, the security benefits are limited, especially if you're on a public Wi-Fi network.

How do I connect with L2TP? It's a little complicated. To set up L2TP, you need to use the following Google help pages: First, you have to download and install a VPN app that supports L2TP, like VPN Manager. This will be the only way to connect to a VPN. If you're using Windows, you can try the free version of OpenVPN Client, which has L2TP support built in. But for now, only devices that come from Google or have the "Android Debug Bridge" development tools installed are allowed to connect to a L2TP VPN. The good news is that Google is working on a way to bypass this restriction.

Google is working on a new way to connect to VPNs without installing any extra apps. But until then, there's no easy way to set up L2TP other than the ones listed above.
