How do I download the configuration file for Windscribe?

I recently installed Windscribe on a few laptops.

It was the first time I had done this on Linux, so I did not know what to expect. I downloaded the configuration file and saved it to my desktop as ~/.windscribe/config, which I can access by running the command:

Windscribe config. This is the only way to access the configuration file. Any other way of opening it would be a non-standard way of using Windscribe, and so would need a special explanation. This is because the configuration file is only accessible from the command line.

Please note that this article is about Windscribe on Linux only. There are a lot of Windows-related features in Windscribe, including the Bitdefender-based ransomware protection. I have to thank @kopf for pointing out some things in the comments. First, a big thanks to @kopf for pointing out that, while config files can be accessed from anywhere, they are only meant to be read from the command line. Therefore, a file on the desktop is not appropriate.

The most important thing I learned here is that the file has to be saved on your computer in order for you to be able to access it from the command line. I could not find this information anywhere.

If you want to open the config file from the command line, you have to save it to a folder on your desktop, as follows: Save the config file to your desktop. Once you have saved it to the desktop, you can open it from the command line with the following command: You can access the file using the above command, but, if you want to do it in a different way, you will need to access your home folder. This is where your Desktop folder is located. Once you have found your home folder, you can access your home folder from the command line with the following command:
Cd ~/Desktop. Next, use the cd command to change into the Desktop folder. You will be prompted to enter your password. After entering your password, you will see the following: Once you have entered your password, you can enter the windscribe config command to access the configuration file.

5-V4 (1GB) for a month and then left the service with notification of the upgrade to R.9-S8. Upon returning today I could not access my account.

It was indeed the upgrade option - however, I can see no indication of which one should have been used as it simply said, "use the free update to download any R5 updates available". Nothing about upgrades? I checked the license key as being the same as the one purchased for the previous month, yet when entering this key to attempt to login (after receiving the above message), this one did not work either. It still asks the login questions, but when I enter this key it says that the key has not been activated. Any idea what would cause this problem?
