It is in the Immigration Rules that babies who are under 4 weeks old and who have not traveled before cannot travel outside of England or Wales. Therefore it is illegal to travel as a baby under four weeks from an EU Country and there is a penalty for doing so (currently 300 plus VAT). As such, babies are not permitted to travel by air as infants or at any time in the future. However, babies do have the right to travel by road between EU and non-EU countries before their 4th birthday if they are able to sit on their own and their needs are not being ignored.

If travelling to and from any of the Schengen countries then there are several issues with bringing your baby to Europe: Your baby must not have an entry visa to any of the Schengen countries as they are not visa free to UK citizens. As a result, when you enter the Schengen Area for an intended trip, your baby must have one of the following documents with them: your passport. A fully endorsed copy of your passport. A full, stamped and accepted, Schengen document. A fully endorsed copy of your driving license. The above travel documentation will vary by Schengen country however all of the guidelines include the same set of passport requirements. It is the responsibility of the parents to ensure that their baby has the above listed documents. Furthermore, they are unable to hold a baby's hand in immigration queues and should not accompany their baby into any Schengen Area country except with prior arrangements. It would be entirely your own responsibility to take care of your baby in the event of a visit to Schengen.

Babies in the above situation cannot go on the ferry or any other sea-borne journey as they cannot travel with a foot in a ferry tunnel due to the fact that these are non-viable passenger areas and therefore the baby would be required to travel for an extensive period of time and with no food or drink. I am in a situation where my passport is missing and I need to travel on official documents only. Do I need a letter from my employer?

How do I schedule a passport appointment near me?

I want to travel for two months and I have a passport that is valid for 6 months.

I have not applied for an extension but it says I need an appointment within 3 months of the expiry date. How do I get an appointment?

Hi Dinesh. Thank you for your inquiry. The requirement for an appointment is dependent on the type of passport that you have, and how far in advance you are travelling. If you are planning to travel internationally, please check if your passport is valid for more than 6 months, and if not, then you will require a new passport. If you are planning to travel domestically, then it is possible that your passport is still valid. However, you may be required to renew your passport, so that it is valid for the full length of your travel. If you are traveling domestically and have not yet renewed your passport, then you would be required to wait until you return from your trip before applying for an appointment.

What is the fastest way to get a passport in NYC?

I'm going to be visiting NYC soon for a couple of days and need to get a passport.

I know it's just a document, but I was wondering if there are any faster ways to get it done than the usual way. For example, is there a certain office that is more efficient than others? I'm worried about lines and such. Is there anything I can do to speed things up?

Thank you for your time and consideration. R
Why do you need to get a passport? If you're planning to visit other countries, you may be able to get a tourist visa for each country. If you're planning to travel outside the US, then you should probably get a passport, too, even if it's just a short trip. I don't think it would hurt to get one while you're still here, just in case you ever want to do so.

If you have a valid passport with good credit, you can save yourself a trip to the US Embassy in London. They have very little staff and no lines, only 2-3 hours of wait time and they will stamp your passport in 5-10 minutes.

You can find all the information you need to get to the Embassy of London here: I did this for my last trip and it was a breeze. We left London and walked directly to the embassy where were processed. We then walked out on to the street and within 10 minutes we had our exit stamp from the embassy.

While we didn't go through NYC (just London) the process went pretty much the same. You will need a passport photo for your application.
