What is the NSFW version of Exploding Kittens?

The NSFW version of Exploding Kittens is called Exploding Hearts.

As the title implies, you can trigger your fave kitty hearts by playing cards with the appropriate color as well as matching the appropriate number in the center of each card.

Which colors correspond to which numbers? What about the order of numbers? How many hearts will it explode? Check out the video below! Exploding Hearts also takes advantage of the full card interface from Exploding Hearts. For example, if you have a 9 in your hand when you start the turn, after picking a card and seeing -2 on your bottom number, you'd see -1 on your bottom number. If you're lucky and got a nine, you'll be able to change your bottom number to 0 and play your card. However, an unlucky run might see you needing to play a heart instead of a 10.

The goal is to get all your kitties as close to perfect as you can, while keeping track of both your own deck and the enemy's. The enemy has a few weaknesses that they can try to trick you with and you need to take advantage of those weaknesses to gain an edge.

Is this the same card game as Exploding Hearts? Yes. Exploding Hearts is the full game of Exploding Hearts with the exception of a rule book and one deck. The game was published by Renegade Game Studios. You can read more about their philosophy here.

Are there more than eight playable kitties? Currently there are eight kitties in the game. That said, any and all kitties with the ability to explode can be played in the game and there are several other versions of the game with different cards, kitties and rulesets in addition to this one.

Can you explain the gameplay in plain English? Play Exploding Hearts with only 8 kitties and it's a game of timing where you're trying to place more and more kittens in your hand to keep ahead of the enemy, and you'll do your best to avoid triggering enemy kittens in the meantime. Can you get it perfectly or will it blow up before you get all the kitties?

How many expansions of Exploding Kittens are there?

That's right, Exploding Kittens is a game that has been made 3 times since its Kickstarter was successful in 2025. The first game, which was a successful Kickstarter, saw its core game released first, followed by expansions that were released a little over a year after, and the last being a Kickstarter that released their next core game a little less than a year ago, a day before the end of the campaign. Now that the last one is out, I would say the wait for their next Core Game/Expansion is almost over.

Before I start talking about this next expansion, I would like to explain my background. This is not because I am a massive nerd who loves board games or anything, it's just because it helped me when I was at Gen Con. So I had the very weird experience of explaining what board games are to people that only really know Angry Birds and Candy Crush Saga. You see, board games are really hard to explain to people. It's not because people misunderstand it, it's because board games are not easily understood unless you grew up playing them as kids, and then get the real world stuff later on. Even when you ask someone to think of a random game they played, the mind explodes trying to take out all the good memories of playing board games. People might even forget a game once they see it or hear it mentioned and I am sure that some of them will never play a board game again. Now this is what I do in our house as well. My dad will never buy board games for anyone else but him, so in our house it is always Let's watch Frozen and eat chocolate chips or something, while I sit and explain the finer points of board games to him. Yes, we can all agree that board games are a bit boring. They aren't that exciting as card games, which people love, although they all are based off of some sort of game called Cards. It's just that there is something so fulfilling about playing a board game when you really get it, and have a great time. That's where board games are different from video games and card games. Just think about it for a moment.
