How to restrict YouTube shorts for kids?
Is there any way I can disable the autoplay function on YouTube videos for kids.
The purpose is to help kids not to become addicted to YouTube. We are working on a home-network. We don't have any internet connection in our house, so we can block all the website but not the Google owned video platform. Therefore, I want to be able to keep kids off from the YouTube site. Is there any app or browser extension that will do this? Thanks.
Best way to block online advertising is to use a VPN that routes your traffic through a random country with low bandwidth and high censorship (which are hard to track because it does not route through a third country) and the traffic looks like from that country which will hide any suspicious activity. Hello, it is possible to prevent playing of ads in my device using apps. One of them is called Adblock browser and I used to use uBlock browser but it does not seem to be updated anymore. Both of them allow to block all ads except the ones from google - so those that you see for example when searching on Google and then watch a video. Is there a similar app for iOS?
Thanks! Hi there. In iOS 11, Apple has decided to block ads. You can download one from here and one from here. There is no one that I am aware of that is able to filter YouTube in real time. But you can make it yourself, though it's a whole lot of effort.
Thanks for your support! I have found the app and it works. It blocks most if not all ads on YouTube, as well as other streaming sites. If you are using adblockers, this would help out. Let me know if it works for you.
There is a way for ios too. Open youtube URL using Chrome. If you open in ios then the video will be paused. If you again open the video in chrome it will start playing without ads. You can do it for apps too.
Thank you for your feedback. I have already made the video pause, but if you know of any way of stopping them from playing again on click would be great.
What I can do now is stop them from streaming when the first ad starts. However, I don't really understand how to do that.
Is YouTube safe for 7 year olds?
In recent weeks we have seen several cases where parents have posted videos of their children on YouTube.
The children in the videos were aged between 7 and 12 years old.
In some of the videos, the child was very young, they could be younger than seven years old. The videos show the child either playing or talking about things that we might find embarrassing or embarrassing for them to say.
In one of these videos, a boy of about 7, with the screen name TheDukeofJetson, had a video of him singing the song Frozen from the film Frozen. This video has now been viewed by almost 7 million people.
The Duke's mother and his father have contacted us and we spoke to them. They told us that they had uploaded the video themselves and not realised that it would be so many people who would see it. The Duke's mother said It was a joke, we didn't mean any harm.
So is this legal? YouTube is the world's second largest search engine. It has an audience of more than 1 billion users and has become a popular way for parents to share videos with their children. It is not a surprise that a number of parents upload videos of their children doing things, including singing and dancing.
The UK Department of Health advises that children aged under 13 should not use the Internet because it is an unregulated environment and children are vulnerable to the risks involved. The British Board of Film Classification says children under 13 should not be allowed to watch films on the Internet.
One of the greatest dangers is that young children can find disturbing content on the Internet. We know that some parents have uploaded videos of their children singing songs and dancing, but we do not think this is acceptable.
We know that parents love sharing videos with their children. However, we also know that the more parents share videos with their children the more they will end up online. It is very difficult for children to control what they see online. If a parent is unaware that their child is online and they do not think the child is old enough to watch these videos, then they could put them online. This can cause a great deal of stress for the child and their family.
Where can parents go for advice?
How do I restrict YouTube content?
YouTube is a great source for finding videos that are educational, entertaining and informative. Unfortunately, some of the content on YouTube can be inappropriate or harmful to children. If you want to make sure that your child doesn't view inappropriate material on YouTube, here are a few suggestions:
Sign up for the YouTube Kids app for Android or iPhone. This app is free for use on both mobile and tablet devices, so it is easy to set up and navigate for young children.
Use search engines like DuckDuckGo. The search engine is designed specifically for kids to avoid advertising and adult content.
Use Chrome with its Safe Browsing technology to block web sites that contain age-restricted content. This feature also works with other browsers.
Restrict access to YouTube.com from within the Internet Explorer. There is a tool that lets you block websites by clicking on the shield on the toolbar.
Restrict access to YouTube on the computer by setting up the computer's firewall to block access to the site. What can I do about offensive content? While you may not be able to control what is being uploaded to YouTube, there are some steps you can take to deal with offending videos and users. Contact the user who posted the video. Most YouTube channels will have an email address listed in the About section on their channel page. If the channel is private, contact the creator via the channel's YouTube inbox.
If the video has been posted repeatedly, contact the YouTube creator and ask them to remove the videos. If the offending videos are posted on your channel, either manually or automatically, delete them from your channel. You can also report the videos by clicking the Report button on the video itself or sending a report to YouTube. If enough people report the video, YouTube may remove it.
What do I do if a video offends me? If you find content that you find offensive, report the video. When reporting a video, select the report as offensive option. If the video does not contain enough content to identify the user, then you can also select the report as spam.
How to set a lock in YouTube?
Many have asked how to use lock function on their YouTube account but the process has been changed and now not all that simple.
How to access your YouTube account or YouTube lock will be different, depending on the model, the device type, and what operating system you're using. But in this article we will go over all the things you need to know about setting lock in YouTube account on Android and other smart devices.
Before you go any further, be sure to check our YouTube Lock Guide for more information on the latest changes. We'll also make sure that you can unlock your account from any of your devices. If you want to go mobile only then you must use YouTube Mobile App, where setting YouTube lock is pretty easy. Also, here are 5 ways to unlock a YouTube account. So let's start:
First of all, you need to access YouTube and make sure you're logged into your account. When you're at your YouTube homepage click on your name at the top right corner and enter your account password.
Next, find and click on YouTube lock from your profile page. You may find 3 types of locks: Standard Lock which allows you to access your account on any browser or via a mobile app;. Login Required Lock, if you require a password to log in from any of your devices. If you don't use password, then it's Login Required lock; and finally Full Lock, which works for all devices, like a computer and mobile devices. In order to get a normal lock (the only one we need) which doesn't allow you to access your account from your device or any browser then follow these steps: Click on the blue Get Started with Lock button, located just below the Lock yourself option. This will open a form where you need to create a strong 8-digit password, and then save it. Afterward, you'll receive an email asking you to set up 2 more step: Visit the website, where you need to confirm your email by clicking on the link that was sent in your inbox. Complete the captcha on the website after confirming the email and get a new login code.
