This is only a rumour but the console will support VR.

I don't know about that. In order for it to have a higher graphical power it needs more space in memory on the new console. With the next generation of Playstation consoles Sony have revealed a number of new improvements, which they call the future platform of gaming and this is basically the official trailer for the next Playstation console and this will most likely be the PS4 Pro. PlayStation boss Andrew House has hinted that the PS5 (the PlayStation 5) will arrive in holiday 2025 and that it will support VR and artificial intelligence as well as improved graphics with ray tracing technology, high resolution textures on surfaces and increased RAM and CPU power. It will also have a faster SSD drive - and it is clear that Sony have learned from their previous console launches.

While this is just a rumour and we will have to wait and see when the actual release will happen - however if this rumour is accurate then there is a good chance of it making great sense when it is launched. The reason I'm asking is because I'm really interested in VR but I was never that into Playstation. On top of that the other rumors like 4k support and the PS5 are also really interesting.

The real question would be about PS5 not supporting old PS4 titles since that would be ridiculous, even if backwards compatibility is possible it doesn't feel like it will be worth it. PS4 is a much better machine for gaming than any next gen box that we can see. You might even get a cheaper price on PS5 since its using existing tech for the base model. All in all, it makes sense to switch to the future.

There's no way PS3, PS4 or PS5 are going to come with backwards compatibility. That means all content has to be bought. Now maybe if we're talking about a bundle they might let you get it out of the box but that's not something I'm looking forward to.

While the PS4 was a pretty solid machine in 2025, we've never really gotten a performance upgrade to it since then. It's been great for me and I know I'm not the only person who has found the last generation of hardware to be pretty adequate. But the PS4 Pro may be able to change that.

We have it. I bought it late last year on launch day and it works great so far. When we do find ourselves playing a game at high frame rates, I still feel like we're not using every advantage that the Pro has to offer. Of course, it's hard to tell if that will become even more true with time because it can take a while before Pro games are fully optimized.

Are you aware of any Pro-specific games or features that we should be waiting for in the future? Is the Pro better for certain kinds of games than the regular console is? Can the Pro actually make things more enjoyable? I think that's the most important question of all. Right now, there's the possibility that when people compare the standard and Pro versions of a game they're talking past each other. That's definitely a bummer when you play a game like The Last of Us or Destiny that's only enhanced for Pro. You really want the best frame rates you can get.

But the PS4 Pro is actually really good for a lot of games. You should expect it to run everything well at 1080p and above without needing any extra effort. At 1080p, the Pro is pretty hard to distinguish from a 4K TV. There's not much of a visual difference, and the Pro does give you some extra color accuracy and contrast. The Pro also has much better processing power than the standard PS4, which can be a big help for running certain games.

I remember talking with a friend about the original PlayStation as were waiting in line at a store to buy one. My buddy is a bit of a gamerhe got me into PlayStation when I was a kidand I asked him how he would spend his new console in a month's time.

"I'd play more games," he said, "but I also think I'd go back to the movies.

My PS5 will probably look somewhat like the PS4 Pro.

But of course it will have a more powerful processor. It's basically an upgraded PS4. So why would they announce a PS5 Pro or PS5X?

If they came out with both this holiday season, then I will be in absolute SHOCK because I knew this was coming. This is what has kept me busy this year. I didn't even know it's true. I had actually believed that they would simply bring out a more powerful PS5 console that would be similar to the Xbox One X but with more power.

I believe that the PS5 and PS4 Pro are not going to happen at the same time. I think that the PS4 Pro is coming out first. And with every major new release, like the PS5, it will probably come out earlier than usual.

PS4 was the first to launch this year and last year. Next year, they'll probably come out with a PS5. They had a PS5 for years with the name 'Neo'. They could have announced a PS5 or Pro while they were revealing the name.

But this is all speculation. It's my prediction. I can't prove this.

PS4 Pro: The Next Big Step. So is the next big step for the PS4 to get even better? It would be quite surprising if a couple of tech giants didn't release a brand new product once every other year or so. Especially when they're making such progress each time.

Right now, the PS4 has a pretty powerful processor and its GPU has improved. But you can still play graphically demanding games on it. But these games run poorly. If you want to play graphics intensive games like Watch Dogs 2, No Man's Sky, and more games that utilize their graphical power to the fullest, then your best gaming option is the PS4 Pro which has much higher specifications.

If you're already playing graphically intensive games on the PS4, why not buy the PS4 Pro? You're already playing games that utilize its GPU at its best.

How much will the PS5 Pro cost?

SIE Japan recently posted the first detailed details of the PS5 Pro's specifications, including the price, on a Japanese site.
