How to put AdBlock on Windows 11?

How do I install AdBlock for free?

I know the answer is no, as you can't.

But what I was wondering is how much are you paid or what was promised to you for writing this? I'm just curious.

You don't get anything because that's against the terms and conditions of my membership. The author is actually a moderator at a forum where I am a member, so we can see each other's posts and have discussions. I actually contacted them about this. He got really pissed and said he was going to ban me for asking too many questions about it. When I asked him if he really spent that much time typing the ads, he told me that there were only a few seconds of work and he used an auto-writer to do it.

Well, I'm done with that forum. If they're not willing to change their way of doing things, I'm done with them too. We'll see how that goes.

It's like the guy in a hotel business that won't take a room deposit. Then he gets caught with hundreds of dollars' worth of unpaid bills. Instead of making nice and saying "Oh, gosh, it's such a shame, I'm sure we can make it right somehow", he throws you out on your butt and says he's just a good businessman and he's a man of his word. He is telling the truth, but just not telling the whole truth.

"You will be forced to install an ad blocker that has been proven to reduce the performance of websites by up to 80%. Do you want that to happen? Your privacy will be violated as advertisers will be able to target ads at you on your phone, computer, TV, and other devices. The performance of a website will be reduced, causing issues for people visiting sites that use your connection. You will be contributing to the slow death of the web."

Then why would someone go to all the trouble of making a script that takes an existing adblocker script and rewrites it to have ads? That sounds like a pain. I would think that most people would just disable their adblocker in browsers if it really slows things down. And what does that have to do with this guy being blocked?

How to put AdBlock on Windows 11?

Microsoft's new feature which makes Windows to look like macOS was met with lots of critics.

The only one thing they are right about is - it sure doesn't look good. It's true that Microsoft spent lot of time, money and resources to keep the operating system looking consistent for people who buy Windows license. However, AdBlock isn't an issue for people running an AdBlock-Free operating system, but it bothers those who are using adblocking tools. I'm sure you must be among them. If you are, then you need to put a bit of work and get AdBlock on Windows.

It all comes down to a simple line. Windows 11 looks way better if you install and activate this third party Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) which can run Ubuntu Linux inside Windows. However, some developers are complaining that the WSL installation doesn't come with the latest version of WSL. You will be able to get the latest version of WSL on WSL website once it becomes available. For now, we are stuck with the older versions.

However, even after installing the latest version of WSL you will find that WSL doesn't have the AdBlock software installed by default. You will have to manually add it to the list of software to be installed on WSL using Ubuntu command. It may take a little while to install WSL but at least it'll be there. I tried doing it myself and followed instructions posted on Reddit. I found the WSL on Windows website much easier.

How do you put AdBlock on WSL? It's not difficult, but it's not always intuitive either. You will have to find out which folder your current Windows folder belongs to and then copy the adblock app itself in that folder. You will have to repeat the same process for every other folder you have in Windows. When you think you've finished, do check for it in File Explorer. Don't go anywhere else till you're sure that adblock is on WSL.

To check whether it's on WSL or not, use the ls command and check for wsl.txt file. You'll see a wsl.txt file there.

Is there a free adblocker for PC?

I was browsing around Google Play, and I was really annoyed that Google's adblocker can block adblocking extension such as Adblock Plus.

The reason for this is that it would be pretty easy for Google to check if you are using Adblock Plus in the background.

Can there be any free/open-source adblocker for PC? There are quite a few adblocker apps available in Google Play Store. They are listed in the following table. However, only one is completely free (free). All other are either ad supported or have an in-app purchase to remove ads.

I am also listing the features of each app in the following table.
