Does scriptic crime stories have multiple endings?

I just want to correct one point. When you're solving a crime and you're following the investigation, it may be in the past or in the future. There's no absolute distinction between past and future.

For example, you can be in the present as you're looking back at what happened or you can be in the future as you're looking forward to what will happen next. The distinction is based on the time of the event that you're watching. For example, if I were to make up a time traveler story, I would have the person go back to the future and murder someone because they're about to get married. The difference between the past and the future is that in the past he murdered the victim before the event happened, but in the future, he kills him after the event.

If the time traveler were to travel to the present, they would know that they've killed the victim. This would make it a different story from the movie version of time travel.

If you are having flashbacks or memories of a specific event, you may be in the past or in the future.
