Can you tell us more about the design process? Our first game had three main goals: It should be funny and fun to play. It should be short enough that you could finish it in one sitting. It should tell a coherent story. With that in mind, the team really tried to work towards simplicity. We wanted to avoid complicated mechanics, so that players could get a sense of the game as quickly as possible. We also decided that a game with more characters would allow for greater variety. We wanted to avoid the one more game feeling by only releasing games when they are complete.

We also didn't want the player to get distracted by reading pages of text. The entire Holy Unblocker series uses simple text-only dialogue boxes that stay on the screen as long as they're active, and then disappear when the player moves on to another dialogue box. You don't need to read anythingjust try to remember the experience.

We've designed several different games based on a variety of topics, like love, dating, death, and friendship. We hope that as people play the games, they'll discover their own themes, and we're proud of the way that the series has built up its own culture.

What does the new release offer over the last version? The main improvement for this version is that we've added new content and made it possible to play through the game without having to load or save. We believe that players will find themselves feeling happy if they've spent a few days playing the game without restarting it.

The other major change is the ability to customize your girl with hairstyles. We have a character called Hair-o, who creates special hairstyles for your girl.

What are alternatives to Holy Unblocker?

I'm using the free Holy Unblocker extension for Chrome for 3 days now and I've noticed that the usage patterns of my site have declined.

I've used other extensions before (including the adblocker that blocks ads) and never experienced any of this. What should I use? Other than simply stopping the extension as you might be doing? If all you're after is blocking ads, but maybe don't want to block some of the good ads around the site itself. There are a couple ads around the right edge of the sidebar that I don't mind blocking (mostly they're from the ad networks), and I block ads on youtube as well using Adblock (and no videos load because of it).

What a great answer! It turns out were seeing similar stats because of ad-heavy sites for which our customers were getting blocked and that we didn't have the proper controls set up. However, the stats got worse when we actually turned off Adblock. Thanks!

This is very much related to my question. What is a good, simple alternative for a "blocking" solution, particularly for ad sites and YouTube? I don't need to block, just slow down.

Is there anything even close to 'adfree' on YouTube? I mean, you could go to a 'nothard' video, but then I guess the next step is to change to a better player. I've had good success in the past with using uBlock Origin on Firefox. A lot of them work pretty well out of the box. If your main point is that you just want to block ads, then I'd say the best option is just to not allow cookies.

It doesn't block ads - which is exactly why I'm asking for help.
