How do you heat Velveeta cheese sauce packet?
My friend told me to heat it in the microwave.
I did and it didn't seem like it was heating. What should I do?
I think I am doing it wrong. I'm not sure what to do. Can someone help? The packet is made of gelatin and does not have enough energy to do a double helix on itself. Therefore it needs external energy to be activated. The easiest way to get this external energy is by heating it up.
To heat it in the microwave, there are two possibilities: Put the packet into a bowl that can be put inside the microwave (like a Pyrex bowl). Then put the bowl into the microwave, turn it on, wait until the packet is boiling and then remove it from the microwave.
Put the packet in the microwave and turn it on, wait until the packet is boiling and then take it out. To heat it on the stovetop, you have to wait until the packet is boiling and then take it off the burner. Note that the packet will only remain at its boiling point for a few minutes and then start cooling down. This is why I suggest using the microwave instead of the stovetop, as otherwise the packet might get too hot and break.
Note that I did not test the suggested methods myself, so they might not work.
