What is the app that takes a picture of someone trying to unlock your phone?
How do you explain this in a technical report?
Can't imagine how that'd happen. The answer to your question is that we call it a false positive. In short, the way phones authenticate one anotherusing something called Near Field Communications (NFC)is a little weird, and there's a possibility for misfire to occur. It actually happens quite frequently, but not too often in any given place.
If I've got a false positive, is it really that bad? It's not a big deal. The thing is, most people don't call out these false positives unless they feel an urgent need to do so. Which, in this case, they didn't.
How often are false positives actually called out? It's difficult to say precisely, but it's likely that as many as two out of every three cases may be called out by end users. In other words, when I open my phone, I have a 2/3 probability of seeing the red light I mentioned earlier. Sometimes end users will call out a false positive. If that happens, we usually don't correct it. We just move on with life and try again the next day.
One possible explanation for these two things happening simultaneously. I think that the reason that it's not as serious as it sounds can be true at the same time that the red light that pops up on my screen means that the camera is actually pointing at something other than my face is because people have been trained over many years to respond to these kind of alerts in a particular way. Namely, they'll respond by saying something like, Didn't I just unlock my phone? Oh, so it was a false positive then! You probably weren't able to lock your phone then. This response is not only very logical, it's comforting to the phone owner, who may be about to leave the store and be unable to find his phone.
My favorite part: In a way, my app has been the inspiration for how phones use NFC.
What is the app that tells you who tries to unlock your phone?
If you answered that's the app called Security Guard, then you need to know there's another that tries to do the same thing.
However, that second one claims to be more secure than the first.
The question is, do they really? Both of these applications are available at the Play Store but they both work differently. In Security Guard, you need to sign in to your Google account so other people can't access your information or devices when you aren't around them. It sends you text messages with a link to an online form whenever someone tries to unlock it. When that happens, your Google account is linked to that phone number and you can see all the information associated with it.
In the second app, you don't need to sign in and can set up access permission for a particular user or family member by using their real name. They also send notifications every time someone unlocks your phone from within 2 seconds of the last attempt. That means if you're sleeping, they won't even wake you up. When that happens, a notification tells you and you can quickly get to your home screen. They can't view anything on your device.
The more complicated app is called FenderGuard that sends notifications on Facebook. Instead of linking to an online form, it sends an immediate notification to your Facebook Timeline about the attempt to unlock your phone. They have more than 9 million users in India alone and it's available in many markets as a paid service.
It is very important to protect your children, especially the under-aged ones. While it is too early to make a call on who has better features, if this app is indeed helpful in protecting them, why not consider having this app installed in your handset? said Rahul Pareek, senior director (security), Frost & Sullivan India. This might be something to look at, at least to see which one provides better security.
Forget Password Notifcation. The third method that lets you know who is trying to get into your phone is via a smartphone app called Forget Password Notifcation. You download it on your device, set it up and then it lets you set up the security of your device and the permissions your family members and friends have.
Can you tell if someone unlocks your phone?
The only way to determine if someone has unlocked your iPhone is to check the display.
If the screen says unlocked you know they have unlocked your phone. If you don't see this you are probably not locked.
You can also look for a software update that unlocks your phone, but this isn't a very reliable way to know if someone unlocked your phone. It seems that if you have an iOS 5 or later device it won't show the unlocked message. The reason for this is Apple wants to discourage people from unlocking their phones. You can still read that it has been unlocked by looking at the About tab under your iPhone settings.
Why would you want to unlock your phone? There are many reasons why you might want to unlock your phone. It might be that you want to use a different phone number with a service provider, perhaps you want to change the SIM card and want to use a different plan.
For most people the reason for unlocking is security. If you're an iPhone user who hasn't upgraded to iOS 6 you may not be aware of how strong the security of your phone really is.
I have had my iPhone for a few years now. I've had problems upgrading to the latest version of iOS, but I never considered how much information about me Apple collects about me. When I was first using my iPhone it was running on iOS 4.3 and I didn't feel that I needed to unlock my phone. Then the iPhone 4 came out and with iOS 5 it started requiring me to use a passcode. I couldn't get the new version of iOS to work with my phone. I was forced to unlock my phone, but why did I need to? I wasn't in any danger, I was just afraid to upgrade.
It's a good thing that Apple made the change, because I now have a much more secure phone. Because of all the information that Apple collects about me, I can't use my phone in public without feeling like someone is watching me.
My phone number can't be used as an email address, and I can't use it to make or receive calls. I can't use it to visit Facebook, or any other websites.
