Should I use a proxy server on my Playstation?

What is the best DNS server for PS5?

I use unbound and it works for me so far.

What would you suggest for a brand new PS5? The internet connection doesn't work and if you search you can barely find one that works, but what I'm searching for is a DNS server for the new console. If you have a better suggestion than unbound please let me know.

You can set your ip as a dns server, just remember to run all updates when in that state. You can also use openDNS and it's free, but remember it's not a DNS server, it does caching and such. Unbound is very good and has a learning curve, but it can be pretty smooth. It also supports multiple zones in memory (dynamic) which means there's no need to do DNS updates everytime you restart the console. Other things I can suggest are other solutions you can try to setup on the console.

I just want to make it clear that my experience is still in very early stages with the PS5. But at this moment I am satisfied with the current DNS/Routing I use. I just got a PS5 a week ago. And yes I did do an update, but I am waiting on more people to test and report back to us before I start talking about things. There are plenty of ways you can setup your network for the PS5. The one I will mention is to use unbound.

I have used OpenDNS since they were starting out, but have not really tested their reliability. I will try that when I finally update to the latest firmware.

There is also a new project called PADNS, that has been in early testing for the PS5. It is very promising, and is a brand new solution. That would be great to know about. The best part about this solution is, you could add it to the PS5 from the same install of linux that I described, and have your DNS server active on your wireless without having to do any messing with your ethernet settings.

That is an awesome solution. If you have experience with both, or not, then let everyone know which one you like best.

The only other thing I can think of is if you are familiar with other DNS servers you could configure the PS5 to use whatever DNS server you prefer, maybe in the future in the event the DNS changes with the console.

What proxy protocol does the PS5 use?

The PS5 uses the PPP protocol.

It was designed as a basic implementation of point-to-point connectivity.

Does the PS5 work on 3G networks? No. It is not possible to use this device on 3G networks as all the protocols involved are proprietary.

What wireless protocols does the PS5 support? The PS5 supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth.

What operating systems can I connect to the PS5? Windows, OS X, iOS and Android are all compatible. Can I connect to the PS5 over the internet? Yes. Do I need to make sure the device is connected when I power it on for the first time? Can the PS5 be used as a wireless access point? The PS5 is intended to be a device used by the owner and their own personal devices. Does the PS5 have built in VPN functionality? Does the PS5 offer any anti-ban protection? How is the PS5 protected from water damage? The device does not include water-resistant features, but is sealed for durability and security. I have a 3G model that came with an SD Card, but I want a MicroSD Card instead. If your existing 3G device came with an SD Card, you must replace the SD card to be able to use the device as normal. How can I download music to my device? The PS5 does not include a standard microSD card slot so the best way to transfer files from your computer to the PS5 is by using its USB port. You can then pair it to your PC, Mac or tablet using the USB connector found on the underside of the console.

I'm getting connection failed whenever I try to use the PS Store on the PS5. What should I do? Check that the console is connected to the internet, ensuring that there is good 3G coverage in the area. Make sure you are using a supported wifi network and that you have wifi-capable apps installed on your device. If the problem persists, try resetting the console.

Should I use a proxy server on my Playstation?

I have a PS3 (model: CECH-S100) and I would like to use the internet on it, but I'm not sure if using a proxy server is a good idea or not. I've read a few things that say that using a proxy server on a console is bad for them, so I'd like to know what your opinions are.

If you're downloading content from the PlayStation Store, a proxy will allow you to use it. If you're downloading content from a console-specific game, it won't work. If you're downloading games from the PlayStation Store, it'll work.

That's the main reason why proxy servers are used on PC's. In short, yes. However, since the Playstation 3 is essentially a stripped down version of the xbox 360, it uses the same network setup. So it's just as easy to use a proxy on the PS3 as it is on an xbox 360.
