Can you download a VPN on Switch?
No.
Not all VPN providers have a port of their service to the Switch. If you are using a Switch device then your best option is to set up a VPN server at home, install the required software on your computer or router and use that as a VPN.
Does the Switch support OpenVPN? If you want OpenVPN then you need to use either the OpenVPN client software or the PPTP VPN client software (if your ISP allows PPTP over their network). Neither of these is supported on the Switch. This means you need to run a VPN server at home and use that.
Which VPN provider has the Switch? Not all VPN providers support the Switch so you might need to look elsewhere. If you can't find what you're looking for then let us know and we'll try to help! If you have any other questions about VPNs please don't hesitate to contact us!
What is the IP address of Switchbru DNS?
We are trying to setup failover DNS servers to provide failover DNS for a web application.
For this, we have multiple options like: A) Run 2 DNS servers on two public IPs, with both providing the same records and pointing to the application (using round-robin DNS). B) Use a CDN service like Amazon CloudFront (or even your own AWS based CDN) to load balance all DNS requests for our application. C) Use a DNS load balancer service like OpenDNS (we did not find answer for this). So, if you have used these DNS services in the past and could suggest how do you use these DNS services in the way that I explained above, it would be really helpful. The answers below provide the answers in different ways: I have setup several DNS servers at the same time. There are several methods of doing this: a) With a single public IP for the nameserver. B) With multiple public IPs for the nameserver. C) Round-robin DNS so the record is requested by a different nameserver. D) Point a second nameserver at the first. E) With a DNS Loadbalancer such as OpenDNS. Let's discuss them one by one. A) Multiple Public IPs as a DNS Nameserver. Let's consider an example where we are running a web application at ourdomain.com. This website could be accessed at and it can be accessed with many different IP addresses such as the ones listed below.
Now, if we would like to use two DNS servers to provide failover DNS for this web application, we will create separate public IPs for these nameservers. This way, one of these public IPs will be used to point to our application at while the other public IP will point to the web application at In this case, we would never want both the public IPs pointing to the same IP address, because then we would have failover DNS issues (the same IP address pointing to different IP addresses).
