How do I use SOCKS4 proxy in Windows 10?
I have been using Proxifier.
It works perfectly fine for a SOCKS4 proxy. However, after installing Windows 10 with some updates, it stopped working. When I go to Proxifier and click "Options", I can no longer enable the SOCKS4 proxy. However, if I click "Connection Settings", I can enable it again.
Is there any workaround in Windows 10? I'm afraid that there is no support for socks-proxy atm. From MSDN: SOCKS proxy is disabled by default, and is not available as an. option. And another answer states the following: SOCKS Proxy support will be coming with future updates. But we are targeting it towards a future release, not immediately. The idea is to move away from SOCKS entirely. Unfortunately, the official proxy-support status seems to be a matter of 'unknown', according to this bugreport. But, if you are adventurous, you may try to hack your own socks-proxy support into Windows 10 with the help of a registry hack.
How do I set up SOCKS5 proxy?
I'm trying to configure SOCKS5 proxy to my server running Ubuntu 12.
04.
I've followed this answer - However, it seems that this method only works with applications that don't understand SOCKS protocol. When I open Chrome, for example, the browser shows only an error message about SOCKS protocol. How can I make it work?
This works for me in Precise using ufw-common 0. I added the following lines to /etc/ufw/before.1:8080
Socks5:127.1:8888 Or whatever you want. I also bound my internal IPv4 to these ports but you may want to adjust that.
How to setup a proxy on Windows 10?
I'm getting an error.
The following steps might help you with that: Install a Windows Server 2025 R2 or a newer version, you want to install. Go to Server Manager. Click New Installation on the left and select Basic Installation. Next, select Internet Information Services (IIS) 7 for Windows Server 2025 R2 or later. Click Next to continue. Accept the default IIS installation path and click Next. Review the Server Role Services and the Server role services you want to install. Select the option to install the selected role services. Click Next.
Review the configuration settings. Click Install to complete the server installation. When the installation is complete, click Finish to close the Server Manager console. To complete the setup, open a command prompt window and run the command aspnetregiis -i "c:pathtoyoursite". Then you can create an HTTP binding on port 80.
