How do I access my proxy server on a Mac?
If you have a Macbook Pro, you can use the "AirPort Utility".
I recommend that as this won't mess around with your DNS settings. Just open up Terminal and type the following command: sudo /usr/share/airport-utils/install-network-carts. It might not be enabled, but for me it's there and working. This will open an empty network menu, with no connections, just the name of your Apple wireless network. If you have a wireless network selected it should highlight the networks available to connect to.
You can follow this procedure for different wireless networks. There's an AirPort Utility already installed on your computer; you just need to find it, open it, click one of the connections and click Advanced from the menu to see the IP address, gateway and DNS settings.
How do I find my proxy username and password?
After you have enabled your proxy server, you will need to log into your web browser and enter the IP address and port number of your server.
Then, go to the Proxy Preferences tab, which is located in the bottom of your web browser.
In this tab, you will find a section that allows you to find your proxy username and password. If you are using a Windows computer, you can either enter it manually or use the automatic login feature. If you are using a Macintosh computer, the proxy username and password must be entered manually. The password is case-sensitive.
How do I enable SSL for all browsers? If you have enabled SSL on your proxy server, all browsers will use SSL when they connect to it. For example, when connecting to any secure website, the URL will begin with What is the difference between IP2Location and ProxyPass? The ProxyPass directive is used when you want to redirect all requests to a particular server to another one. This is what you usually use if you want to point your customers to a new website. When a user enters a URL, the Apache server will check if the target host is configured on the proxy server. If it is, Apache will forward the request to the target server.
IP2Location is another option that we offer. With IP2Location, all requests are checked against a central server and the user's IP address is matched with the IP address of the proxy server. The advantage is that you can direct customers to a number of servers.
Do I need to configure SSL in my web server? No. This configuration is done on the proxy server only. Once SSL is enabled on the proxy server, all clients accessing your server through the proxy will use SSL.
What is the IP2Location feature? IP2Location is a new feature offered by IP2Location. When you use IP2Location, all requests are checked against a central server and the IP address of the client is matched with the IP address of the proxy server.
Why is my Mac asking for a username and password?
This article will answer many of the basic questions why your Mac is asking you for a username and password.
What the heck is happening here? Is this normal? The answer is not as simple as you would expect because there are too many things that may happen that are hard to explainor easy, depending on your perspective.
If you were to look at your system security in two parts it is almost as if you can view the system on two different levels. One level for your login that has to do with your userid (an ID uniquely assigned by your Mac) for the system and the other being your Apple login that enables the Apple menu bar on your Mac to function. When it comes to your Apple login, you could even go further and group your user ids on two levels and one for your Apple login. All of these levels have their own level of complexity to them.
When it comes to your userids on a first name only basis there are many factors that could be causing your Mac to require your user id and password. The very first thing that comes to mind is that one of your userids on your Mac is disabled. When a disabled userid is created in your Mac it cannot be changed even if all other userid's are functional or working. I'll explain what a disabled userid is and how it can come about and some options on how you can get your userid back.
A disabled User Id is a result of not setting up a user id during the initial account setup process. At the point you create an account on your Mac, the user names and the user ids are automatically given to you when you have successfully completed the initial setup process and have confirmed your user id. The Mac does not allow you to change your user id. If any of your userids are disabled then all three can not be changed. If you want to change your Mac user id then it will disable all your other userids. I can hear some readers now thinking, how will I get any more than three user ids with three user names and why the need to have user ids in the first place? For all new readers that are thinking about this, allow me to clarify a few things: When you turn on your Mac the screen shows you all the userids, with their associated labels, in the upper left hand corner.
How do I fix proxy error on Mac?
Recently my parents are using their broadband connection and my dad gets an error that his proxy is not being set properly.
When they are using their own wifi to browse there is no problem at all. Any help will be greatly appreciated.Thanks.
3 answers. I think you can fix this without any changes to the configuration of your dad's computer. Go to your father's router admin page. Turn off the proxy setting and then turn on the internet sharing service. Turn off internet sharing again.
There's a reason I gave this answer first. If your dad cannot get to the Internet, then he needs to contact his ISP to make sure there aren't any network issues blocking your father from reaching the Internet. Your father might have trouble reaching that link if there's a network issue with their ISP. If the problem is on your dad's computer, that's harder to fix, but it's also harder for you to diagnose.
Your other option would be to contact your dad's provider and ask them how to fix it, but without knowing more about the problem it's hard to say which option will work best. In future, if you don't like your home Internet provider you can always ask for a different provider that you can choose, perhaps one based in your town. You won't get Internet access immediately (you'll have to talk to the other provider to arrange it) but you may get an even better deal than what you're getting now.
You can also contact your parents' ISP with your parents' IP address from their ISP so they can tell them what to do. Their ISP might then be able to connect with yours and solve the problem for them.
Hi.I've followed your instructions and even when I put my proxy settings in, it still didn't work, so I checked your instructions for how to unblock Google search, and it works perfectly! So if anyone else was having a problem, then do a search for this question as I figured this question was answered already! Sorry I missed that! Yes, I'd definitely recommend contacting the other provider. You'll have to have a separate Internet connection, but you may be able to get better service.
