Why is my Apple ID saying my phone number is invalid?

Why is Apple saying my number isn't valid?

I have a number from my phone that I'm trying to put into my phone as a valid number.

When I type the number into the "iPhone" section of the "Numbers" app, the app says the number isn't valid. I've tried the following: Type the number directly. Type it into a Google search bar. Put the number into a cell in a spreadsheet and then paste it into the "Numbers" app. I can't figure out why it's not working. It seems like it should be something simple that I'm just not seeing.

After talking with a friend of mine and an Apple representative, I've determined the issue. The problem is that the number I'm using is not from the USThe 'numbers' application will not accept numbers from non-US countries. I've resolved this by going to Google.com and searching for the number. Once I've found it, I've copied the number and pasted it into the "Numbers" app.

Why won't my Apple ID verify my phone number?

I have lost my iTunes password, can I re-use my Apple ID?

Unfortunately, this is not possible. There are some alternatives, though. This guide will give you a way to reset your password for FREE!

If you're having trouble using the guide, the process generally goes: Find your Apple ID's user name and email address from your iPhone's settings screen (you'll need to sign into your iTunes account before you can access the user settings screen, and it should tell you what to call the name of the email associated with your Apple ID.) Sign into the user settings screen on your computer using your Apple ID credentials. Make sure to uncheck "Enable My Apple ID" as seen here to prevent it from activating automatically whenever you're using your computer or iOS device. At this point, the steps below will walk you through the process of verifying your phone number with your Apple ID. Verify a phone number with your Apple ID. If you have an Apple Music subscription, it may still be active - and if it is active, you will see an option at the top of your iTunes Library screen (or on the main page of your Apple Music app) to "Renew My Subscription" - this will allow you to manage subscriptions for your Apple ID. If your subscription has not yet been automatically renewed, follow the steps below to verify that your Apple ID is active and that you have an active music subscription. Note that the steps below assume that you have an active Apple Music subscription - if you're using an Apple Music subscription through your carrier, read up on managing your account here. Verify that your Apple ID is registered to your cellular number. To begin, connect your iPhone to your computer or iOS device, and open the Phone app. When prompted, tap the switch to confirm that your SIM card is switched on (if your phone was shipped with a SIM card installed, and it remains activated, this should be shown in the switch settings on the Phone app.)

Select your carrier to ensure that it's showing in your profile. If you do not see your carrier (for example, GSM AT&T), then check your device's physical SIM card is fully inserted, and not removed.

In the Phone app, select your Carrier Settings > View Profile, and choose "View Information".

Why is my Apple ID saying my phone number is invalid?

Recently a friend of mine has had some problems contacting my phone for some reason, and I found out that something was a bit off.

It says her number as a invalid/not recognised number when she called into Apple (using iTunes), while iMessage worked just fine.

I can't find anything in the settings that will change this or help me troubleshoot this for her. Under My Number, toggle the toggle which tells your phone to treat your number as different numbers. If this option is checked, it may prompt you to change or verify your number.

That said, you're correct in not trusting numbers generated via SMS from random companies. That being said, they should probably make a much bigger effort to verify your number before accepting it.

Why is it saying my phone number is invalid?

I have just been doing a lot of research on the internet about it and it doesn't appear to be that common but the best part is I don't even have a smartphone.
