How do I get Google Home to play my pictures?
I have been able to play audio on my Google Home using the "Select a song" option.
However, I cannot get Google Home to play any kind of image (or video) file.
Is there any way to get this to work? The Google Home app doesn't support playing images in the gallery or directly from your camera roll, as it only supports playing music or audio files, as shown in the screenshot below. To access your gallery and camera roll, you'll need to use a computer to connect to your phone's storage and then copy the photos and videos to Google Home. You can also try to use your phone's browser to access the files, but that doesn't always work.
Can the Google Nest hub be used as a digital photo frame?
Google Nest Hub is an Amazon Echo Dot competitor with Google Assistant built in, which also has a display to show Google Photos.
And this display can be used as a digital photo frame, so we have a question on this: Is it possible to use the display as a digital photo frame, and what should I do if I want to use it? I know that the screen has two types of light, backlight and ambient light. The ambient light is for us to see the content shown on the display. If I want to use it as a digital photo frame, can the ambient light be turned off or disabled? Or is it okay to use the screen for this purpose?
It depends on the quality of the ambient light. If it's a high quality ambient light, like LED, then it's a good idea to disable the ambient light. Otherwise, it won't hurt anything. But you can check that for yourself.
How do I set up Google Nest hub photo frame?
I've got the Nest thermostat, and I want to use the Nest hub with my phone and photos as a picture frame for holidays, etc.
The Nest website doesn't say much about this.
I can do it manually by mounting the photos on photo paper (which are just regular pictures of my family and Christmas cards), and then putting them on the wall, but I don't want to do that - it takes hours. Does anybody know if there's a more efficient way? I don't have any official word, but I would guess that it should be possible to add photos to the frame. First, get a couple of cheap frames (either via Amazon or some nearby retail store). You can't expect them to be high quality, but they will definitely look better than something you may have taken a photo of yourself doing.
Then you'll need an app (you could use Google Photos, but I don't know of anything else). Make sure the photo is in the correct format (exif data) so that the app can determine the orientation, aspect ratio, etc. Put the photo on your camera's memory card. Connect the camera to your computer and import the photo into Google Photos. After this, import the photo into the Nest app (as you would any other image).
It is worth noting that you can't directly access the photos from a frame. You need to sync them to your phone, where they can be accessed by any of a variety of apps. You don't specify which device you have, so it may be that you already have one of these apps installed.
Can Google Nest hub display photos?
I have a Google smart home device, the Nest hub, and for the first time noticed when I logged into the Google photos to download my pictures they were available through the "smart home" view.
I thought this must be a recent change. Has anyone else seen it?
My question is, Can Google Nest hub display pictures, or access information about pics in the photos section of Google Photos account Hello. Thanks for joining our community! We're happy you have joined the discussion and hope that it was a great experience for you. Google Home Mini does not support any additional data sources that are outside of what is available via your mobile device. This is simply not something we are planning to support in the future. When I was building the integration, the goal was to make sure Home could speak to you through your voice even if you were not at your desk with your computer. It doesn't sound like that goal is being met, however. If you are interested in having Google Assistant support third-party apps through its existing API integration with Google Home, you can request a feature tag to allow for this. As we see what features people want in Google Home, we'll add these.
As mentioned above, in the Smart home view of Photos, it will show you all of the people who have been tagged as 'in Google Photos'. You can also tap on the images to see that information from your mobile device, and you'll get a short snippet of some metadata. For example, you can see which app took the image, and whether there are any edits in the photo before it was uploaded to Google Photos. For more detailed views of images in Google Photos, see:
