Can I share VPN from Android to PC?
Hi! I've just been given android phone with its own ip address. I need to share the vpn connection with a PC. The phone is on wifi and connected to the router that's got the same public ip address as the PC (which is connected to the router by ethernet). Can you tell me if I can share the IP addresses between these two and what do I need to change in my router to do this?
Hello and welcome to Networking 101. As you've already stated that the IPs are the same, that's a very good thing. The important things to note here are that the router is not required to pass through any of your internet traffic - you could have a VPN-capable NAS device or another desktop machine running on the ethernet port and it would still work.
As for the WiFi adapter on your Android device, this is very simple - simply plug your WiFi AP into the ethernet port on your router and give the Android device a static IP of either 192.168.1 or 10.1 and you should be all set. That's it. Have fun.
How do I run VPN on my emulator?
I want to use PPTP Vpn and open my local ip address on my emulator to access the internet. Is there any way to achieve this? Please help.
It depends on what device you are trying to emulate. If you are trying to emulate a generic Android, then you cannot (see details in comments).
For other devices, here is how to do it on an Android 1.6 or later: Set up a proxy on the machine running the emulator, and make sure your emulator can use it. It's probably going to be in the "proxy server" setting in the emulator settings (if it doesn't say that, then click on the "advanced" button in the emulator window and change the settings there). You can also set it up on your PC if you're using a Windows computer.
Can I use a VPN with BlueStacks?
Yes, if you are going to be using a VPN for BlueStacks, it will work just like using any other software as long as your VPN is correctly connected to BlueStacks.
Are there any differences with a VPN? There are a few difference between using a VPN to browse the internet with BlueStacks: Your IP address will likely change, so if you have any sort of anti-virus or firewall which uses a whitelist it may complain that it's not allowed to connect. If your VPN connects to our servers then we can offer you full BlueStacks access even when browsing, however if your VPN connects to somewhere else you may only have access to part of BlueStacks, or it may not even connect to the Internet (though BlueStacks should still work). The amount of data you're allowed to download can be affected, and depending on the VPN provider your download speed may slow down too. You will need to use the default settings when using a VPN connection, as some VPN providers will offer other features and settings. How do I connect my VPN? Most VPN services are pretty straight forward, click on the link, enter your username and password, and start downloading! You will be given a URL to paste into your VPN, something like this: What should I choose for a VPN? Some VPNs are free while others charge, so you will need to do a bit of research to find what's best for your needs. Some things to think about are; security, access to apps, data transfer and the number of servers in each region. If you're unsure what to look for, then ask your VPN provider for advice. You may want to check what other people using the same VPN services are saying as it could also help you with your choice!
Is BlueStacks accessible with my own VPN? Yes, you can use the most commonly used VPN services like ExpressVPN or NordVPN with BlueStacks, these VPN services allow you to select what apps you want access to, and what regions you want the app to connect to. We'll always have enough users connected for you to use a personal VPN if you want, or you can join one of our private servers and access them as well! Does VPN work on emulators?
I play emulators on my Android devices and I don't know if I can play Pokemon using a VPN.
I don't want to keep a connection with any of the apps, but I do have an internet connection.
I tried to connect through VPN but I'm unable to use Pokemon. I was just wondering what I should do for Pokemon Go to work without any of the apps keeping a connection to the internet. I also don't want to be constantly connected.
I don't understand how you're not connected when you're using a VPN since the internet connection is still coming from your VPN server, it's just routed through them. Sachiru Jun 27 '15 at 19:45. I'm not really sure about that since I haven't used a VPN before. I thought you had to connect to a specific server using one of the apps, but the Pokemon Go App doesn't need to keep the connection alive to the VPN server. I don't see why it wouldn't work though. I can connect using my laptop even when the wifi is turned off in my home. I just do it in-person.

No. If you are on a local network and have set up a static IP then you can ping www.google.com on that IP (or any other web server) from your phone and you should see an immediate response, that's how it works. If you are using a dynamic IP then your phone will "see" the network's interface before you log into the app because the network assigns a new address when you log into the app. If you are using the app over WiFi and you are not connected to the internet then you are not connected. There is no way to "do" a VPN when you don't have an internet connection. You'd have to tether to your phone to get an internet connection to use the app.
SachiruJun 26 '15 at 23:55. I think his question is about "how to connect to a certain VPN server and use the game" (in quotes because the word "server" sounds like he wants to play a Pokemon server) or "How does the application decide which VPN server to connect to?". The main reason most people use a VPN is to ensure that the DNS lookup happens from their server rather than the one in their country.
