What is my Wi-Fi password?
I own an Apple Network.
The network name is "my". I have tried to install the software on various computers, but I get an error message saying: "(Unable to locate host myhostname.net)". On the first computer, it would just tell me the password for "my" is incorrect. On a second computer, it tells me the password is correct, but when I type the same password into Firefox, it asks me for a new password, but doesn't accept that one either. I have tried entering into the control panel and resetting the SSID and the network connection through there, but nothing has worked so far. There are other computers connected to this network without this problem. Can someone please help me?
How do I find my Wi-Fi password on my computer using Ethernet?
The following instructions can help you find the correct Wi-Fi password for your computer and Internet router, which will help you connect to your device on the Internet, whether it's connected wirelessly or over ethernet. However, some devices might require you to enter a custom password when connecting and then the next time you want to connect via Wi-Fi, you'll need to input that same Wi-Fi password manually. Some Wi-Fi routers do not allow you to change the Wi-Fi password by resetting your device; you'll have to find the default Wi-Fi password and make changes to it accordingly. If you own an Android device, check out this thread on Android.com for step-by-step instructions:
Connect the cable from your Internet router to your computer's ethernet port. Note: Your router should have multiple configurations pages that you can navigate to as shown above. Enter a name for your Wi-Fi network that is easy to recognize and remember, for example: "Wireless Network". Note that this is different than your wireless network's SSID, which should be displayed on your home wireless network device in case it has been set to automatically accept the current network. You cannot set the SSID for a wireless network over your ethernet cable and then use the SSID to connect to it by Wi-Fi later.
Under your configuration page, scroll down through the various settings for your Wi-Fi connection until you find a list of available WEP, WPA2 or similar security codes. Each of these security options provides two fields. The first field is labeled Default Key (Optional, case-sensitive) and is the text that you enter into the password field when you connect to your wireless network. The second field is Password (Required). Enter your Wi-Fi password there, making sure to press the Enter or Return key on your keyboard to confirm.
How do I find my Wi-Fi password on my Dell laptop?
The answer for this simple question has never been so hard!
When you take a Dell laptop, you assume that the Wi-Fi password you provided when you registered your operating system is still valid. In reality, it may not even be your password anymore because of the ways in which Dell laptops can sometimes get hacked. However, there's no way to know for sure whether the Wi-Fi password you provided when you initially installed the OS is still valid. It may very well be as far as you know, or it may not be anymore, so how do you find out?
The easiest way to find out is to run Windows Password Reset and then see if Dell Support recognizes your computer as being connected to your Wi-Fi network. Dell Support will look to make sure that Dell has control over your Wi-Fi network and if they can verify that your Wi-Fi network is secure with its proper configuration, then you will automatically be connected to your Wi-Fi network on a secure Dell laptop.
However, if Dell Support cannot successfully locate your Wi-Fi network and your Wi-Fi passwords still seem valid, then there may be a problem with your Wi-Fi password. If you are really at a loss as to what your password might have become, you may consider resetting it from one of Dell's online help manuals. It really shouldn't be too difficult to reset your Wi-Fi password if you use the right settings on those help manuals.
Remember to use caution when using any of these methods. They might just be an exercise in futility and even if they do give you access to your Wi-Fi network and then to your computer, you don't know for sure whether your computer is compromised and whether anyone else on your Wi-Fi network could be. So, only ever attempt to do this as a last resort if you haven't first confirmed that a potential hack isn't able to compromise your Wi-Fi network as far as you know.
When using Dell Support's Windows Password Reset tool, make sure to always remember to follow their instructions carefully and precisely. For instance, don't simply accept the default option of resetting your password. Instead, select every item within the options menu carefully before pressing the button. You have a very good chance of being able to avoid this hack if you do this!
