How do I enable smart DNS on NordVPN?
NordVPN is an excellent choice for all your internet security needs.
But what if you're not satisfied with their service and want to try something better? While you can always switch VPNs, you might need a while to get used to the new service. That's why it's best to use a VPN that has no-nonsense documentation. NordVPN has just that, but the smart DNS feature isn't easy to find.
In this guide, we'll help you set up smart DNS on NordVPN. We'll explain the reason why you'd want to do so, and we'll walk you through the setup process step by step.
So, let's start! What is smart DNS? Before we get to the steps of how to enable smart DNS on NordVPN, let's look at what smart DNS is and why you should consider using it. Smart DNS is a technology that allows you to connect to the internet through a different domain than the one where the website you're visiting is hosted. This way, the DNS settings you've already configured on your router will route your traffic to the correct server, without affecting other connections on the network.
Why use smart DNS? There are many benefits to using smart DNS, such as: You can use a different domain name for your internet connection than the one you're using on your regular PC. You can also access local content from your PC. For example, if your work office is connected to a local network, you can access it via a VPN.

Why is Netflix not working with NordVPN SmartDNS?
How can this be an issue, when your account is verified and is still not working?
I have done everything you have said to do.
I am having the same problem. When I try to connect to Netflix on the VPN and watch a show, the site says there is no internet connection and then takes me to the Netflix app page with the error An error occurred during log in: Connection refused. I tried to reset my NordVPN and Netflix profiles. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling NordVPN.
I also tried to connect to Netflix while in a wired area of the home instead of a wireless area and had the same problem. I believe that maybe it may be an issue with my Wi-Fi router? Hey, just wondering if it's the same for you as well. I'm using NordVPN for about three weeks now and it's awesome. And the only problems I've had are (mostly from your comment) when I wanted to delete something from the main page.
If you want to remove something use the x at the top of your page instead of the trash icon. The site was very hard for us Germans, since we can't read German, so we need to delete the subtitles But even in English that's super easy. You should give more instructions on that site, there is a x for deleting in every language.
And the other two I just couldn't get rid of, my NordVPN account is blocked as well as the sites I want to hide. I think the reason they were so persistent is that I was logged in and had to log in again.
Hi Rishma. I don't think it has anything to do with your router. The VPN provider cannot control what Internet Service Provider you use. I used VPN from Canada and it used my Verizon FIOS provider.
It might have something to do with the IP blocking that NordVPN does. You would still need to ask them how to bypass that part and I am sure they will be happy to help.
If they block content/servers or IPs for whatever reason it's because they don't want you to see it. That's not a Netflix problem. It's your internet service provider.
