What is the 14 eyes agreement?

Tl;dr.

Most of the content is in the questions and answers. The only thing in the tag description is about the scope. All versions since August 2024 can use this agreement. They can add their own questions about a specific version. If we decide that it's off-topic, moderators can close it, and no one will see it. If we decide that it's on-topic, we'll move it to its topic and everyone will be able to view it.

What that means is: Only "Active" users with 15k or more reputation can vote to close the question and have it closed by mods. So if the question has 20 active users and at least two of them have 25k or more reputation, it can be closed. (And I hope they don't do anything stupid like closing this question without letting us close it first.)

All closed questions not tagged with "core" and with a mod message will still remain closed and "protected" for future site mods to see. If someone deletes their posts in the tag at all, the post is immediately lost. The same applies to posts under the "core" tag, as long as they were not migrated to other SE sites. Answering. The rules of the agreement are for active users and are a core part of how StackExchange works. These rules make it clear that some questions need to be reviewed by a group of users rather than just one. I think this is a good idea and I welcome the community in that regard to take a decision, as it gives more opportunities for community members to review posts. This will make for a better platform as all these decisions need more votes before being made to act on them.

This is an additional step to the usual closing mechanisms which will eventually work the same in most cases. In the interim, it has advantages as it will work out better for people who may want to ask a question in a certain version or tag only when they get answer and their question stays closed, as they could never know.

What is the 14 Eyes? The 14 Eyes is a global intelligence network that has its headquarters in Washington, D.C. It was created in 1991 by the US government to monitor the activities of people and organizations who are doing harm to the US. The 14 Eyes website describes the purpose of the network as:
