Is Hotspot Shield good for streaming?
No, it's just a way to use the computer as a Wi-Fi hotspot.
That's it. You still need a broadband connection to watch streaming video.
Does using VPN hurt my Internet bandwidth or router? You're using your broadband connection the same way you normally would - in other words, you won't be able to upload music to your MP3 player or do other things that use a lot of bandwidth such as streaming videos from a media server. The only difference will be you're not visible to anyone else on your network, and the web servers you access will not be visible. This may save you some money on your broadband bill, as well as prevent your account from being suspended if your IP address gets blocked.
What are some good VPNs? If you're going to use a VPN, you'll want to make sure the provider offers strong encryption and privacy features like an exit node in one of the countries where the U.S. Government doesn't have jurisdiction.
Why do I need a VPN? The basic answer is to protect you when you access the Internet. For example, you're connected to your home network and a hacker attempts to log into your device with malware or spyware in order to infect it. If you're using a wireless router, the hacker can use your device as an access point, and thus your own network. A VPN can block access to your device so the hacker can't do that. It also adds privacy by making it harder for eavesdroppers to see what you're doing on the network.

Can Hotspot Shield be trusted?
I've been using Hotspot Shield for a couple of months now, and I'm very happy with it.
However, there are some concerns I have about its trustworthiness. I wouldn't mind sharing them with you. I'm hoping someone might be able to answer some of my questions.
I don't use it as a privacy blocker. I can accept that it may provide some privacy benefit. However, I find myself on public Wi-Fi networks more than I ever did before I started using Hotspot Shield. That leads me to wonder if it's safe to use.
Here are my questions: If the hotspot is owned by a business that seems to be doing okay financially, would the network security be good enough to keep anything from slipping through? Would it be safe to use the default settings and connect to other users and devices without any worries? If I use a router with OpenWRT, is it safe to set the hotspot to only allow clients to connect? Or would I need to enable Access Control? Is there any reason to enable Access Control? And if I do, can it be bypassed? Do I need to enable Access Control if I'm not doing anything nefarious with the device? Is it safe to connect with the device turned on but not enabled, leaving it as a wireless repeater? Is it safe to connect with the device turned off, just doing a normal connection? Thanks! I have no affiliation with Hotspot Shield. I just love the product and want to help people decide if they should get it.
UPDATE: I added a few links to resources that might help. UPDATE 2: After doing some research, I found this article that explains that Hotspot Shield uses a stealth VPN that allows it to connect to any network and stay on it while you're connected to the Internet. So if you connect to a wireless hotspot and stay on it, then Hotspot Shield stays connected. But I'm still wondering why I'm using it on public Wi-Fi networks so much, rather than my home network.

Is ultra VPN legit reddit?
Ultra VPN is an open source software that offers you the best privacy and security on the Internet.
It protects your IP address, identity, and your data. They also have an app for windows, osx, Linux, and ios devices.
They have a free version with a limit of 5GB data per month. The paid version has the limitation of 3GB and offers you many features.
How does ultra VPN work? Your internet provider sees only you, the web pages you visit, the IP address you use. So, when you use a VPN, they see only that IP address and they don't know what sites you are visiting.
The IP address is encrypted, so they can't know what you're doing. If you're on a free plan, you have no way to save your bandwidth. But, you can use a paid version and you can get unlimited bandwidth.
Ultra VPN provides you with features like: A kill switch, so that when your connection drops, it disconnects and reconnects automatically. So, you can be sure that your traffic will not be blocked, even if they are in one of those countries.
A tunneling protocol like OpenVPN. Firewall rules to protect your privacy and security. A web filter to protect you from phishing. A web filter to protect you from malware. In-app browser to hide your browsing. Why ultra VPN. Ultra VPN has been providing VPN services for 6 years and has helped over one million people. They have millions of users all around the world. They also have a huge team of employees.
Is Hotspot Shield a good VPN for Netflix?
In this article I will look at the pros and cons of Hotspot Shield a VPN for streaming media content.
If you want to read more about the technology behind a VPN, see my article on How a VPN Works.
Hotspot Shield is a great, easy-to-use VPN service. It's designed for casual use (so you can connect to your favorite sites without worrying about anything too technical), and it does a great job of protecting your privacy.
However, there are some limitations. For example, it doesn't support any kind of paid content - you get a free trial but after that you need to pay. And like other free VPN services, it gives away its real IP address. While that's probably not a problem for you to protect your privacy, it's something that may not be suitable for people who want to access certain paid content.
However, we think Hotspot Shield works well enough for Netflix users and other paid streaming content users to be willing tolerate the odd compromise in return for the simplicity, ease-of-use and privacy protection it offers. To find out what all Hotspot Shield can do, let's take a quick look at what it can and can't do. Does it work? If you connect to Netflix via a US ISP, then the odds are good that the ISP is giving Hotspot Shield access to your internet traffic. That means it will use the same method to get you connected as a US citizen gets connected when using a US VPN.
As a result, Hotspot Shield will not work with Netflix - you'll still be blocked. But, as we've said, if you don't care, then there is nothing wrong with that.
What does it do? Hotspot Shield lets you connect to a variety of servers located around the world. When you use the service, they will act as a VPN tunnel between you and the server you are connecting to. That means your traffic will pass through them as though they were part of your ISP network.
How you connect to the Hotspot Shield server can make a big difference to how well you connect to the server. For example, a router that runs on Wi-Fi might do a good job, but an older machine might do less well.
