How do I transfer emails from iCloud to Gmail?

Is there an iCloud to Gmail mail migration tool?

Question by BVinod from USA - asked on May 13, 2025 11:15:00 AM. I use my iPhone and iPad for work, but I also use Gmail for personal emails. I have my emails stored on my iPhone. Is there any way to move the emails from my iPhone to Gmail account? Or, if not then how do I transfer my emails from iCloud to Gmail using the Mail app on iPhone? Thank you in advance.

Best answer: Answer by Denny from USA. This is a tricky situation because you are dealing with Apple software (Apple Mail) and Google's (Gmail) services. If you want the easiest solution to move your data over you need to get your data to an online service that supports Apple's software, ie iCloud, Microsoft Exchange, etc.

Here's what you'll need to do: Install Apple Mail on your Apple iPhone or iPad, and your Mac OS X system. You'll need to sync your device's mailbox first before you can transfer your mail. After you have installed your mail on all of your Apple devices, you'll be able to configure Mail so it knows where to find your email account on iCloud, etc.

When all your Apple devices are set up properly with Mail, you'll need to open the 'More' menu on the Mail App on your device, and then click 'Mail Account Settings.' This will bring up a box that will allow you to access your other account. It's a good idea to do this on a device that's not connected to the internet, so that your connection isn't interrupted.

Sign in to your Google account on your phone. Click the 'Sign In' button, and the default password (which is 'Google') should be accepted and you're in! Tap 'Email' and you'll see your old Google account in the box. Tap it and your settings should open up for the rest of your settings.

Since you are already a gmail user, you can setup your iCloud mail settings in the Settings app in the General tab as your 'default' mail provider. Open Settings General Push Notifications, and either click on the Add button to add a new mailbox, or else drag it from the mailbox list down to the 'Add a New Mailbox' section. Enter your iCloud settings as outlined below.
