I don't believe I've ever seen any promotions from Netflix. I believe what you are referring to is that they will occasionally do a promo called "Pick of the Week" where they give out one free title (the current offering) and have you pick another title to receive free and get credited for both. The titles can include TV shows, movies, etc.

They do have occasional promotions to receive movies or TV shows for free, but I'm not aware of any weekly deals they run. I'm surprised you didn't find anything about Netflix doing special deals where you get more than 1 movie or TV show for free every week. I've heard stories about people posting their lists about what Netflix gives them and how they find out about new deals.

If you were to search for a "What's free on Netflix?" type of question the results would be overwhelming. It's no surprise there's so many articles about this, it gets picked up and reposted quite often.

It is probably best to be safe and not mention Netflix during business hours since they very well may have someone from HR asking questions. Netflix does promote their service as a great one, but it could be risky to speak negatively about the company in front of a few big investors, unless they want to keep you on their payroll as a "big fish consultant" to help them. I don't think Netflix is going to stop their promotions for you because it is just not worth it to them. If you speak negatively about them, you could easily see all your stock options drop and lose your job at Netflix. They don't want to do anything that will cause their shareholders (including investors) to lose money, especially when they have so many customers already paying them to subscribe.
