However, a while ago we did a small experiment: we asked our users if they wanted Vivaldi to be Google Chrome or if they preferred to have a unique, lightweight and open source browser. These questions were chosen so that there would not be any bias for the answers - we wanted the answers to be mostly made by the users, not us. In addition, we tried to make sure that the answers were neutral. If Vivaldi is to be a light-weight alternative to Chrome, it should not matter if it looks like Chrome or not.

Based on the results, the first question was answered as follows: The Vivaldi Browser based on Chromium scored highest for all the three platforms, but had the lowest number of responses. The Vivaldi Browser based on Gecko scored lower than the other two Vivaldi versions, but had the highest number of positive answers.
