Google has the strongest security, so it is often considered the gold standard. However, there are other secure email services out there, some of which can send messages over Tor or other anonymized networks.

The following list includes the top email services that offer encryption when you send email messages from a browser on a personal computer. Google is the most popular webmail service because it's easy to use and has a large and active user base. The only problem is that it's very difficult to get a good comparison between providers because their user reviews are generally unreliable.

This is because most of the time, you can't tell if the user is just a happy customer or a whiny one. So, I decided to compare three different email providers: Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Hotmail. These three are the most popular ones in the world, so they should be good for you to start.

Gmail vs. Hotmail vs. Yahoo Mail

Gmail has the most user reviews. But Yahoo Mail and Hotmail have more than twice as many. So, let's look at what these two providers have to offer.

Price. Gmail and Hotmail are free. But you will have to pay for Yahoo Mail.

Customer Support. Gmail has a pretty big team. In fact, they even have a Gmail Help Center. This way you can get answers to any question you might have.

Yahoo Mail and Hotmail have a lot less customer support. I did not find any help center on either of them. They both have forums, but they don't answer questions there.

Security. Both Gmail and Yahoo Mail are secure. Hotmail has some problems with spam. But, I believe that this problem will be solved soon.

Speed. Both Gmail and Hotmail have faster loading times than Yahoo Mail. However, the difference between them is not huge.

Features. Gmail has a lot of useful features. You can create groups, calendars, contacts, and more. It is really easy to organize your emails.

Yahoo Mail has the same features as Gmail. But, I think that it is a little slower.

Hotmail has a lot less features. It does not even have a group management tool. It only has an inbox. And it does not have a search tool.

All three services allow you to attach documents and images. However, Hotmail and Yahoo Mail have more features than Gmail. Yahoo Mail

Is there a better email than Gmail?

"I was a huge diehard Apple fan.

I was a Mac guy. I even tried to get people to switch to Apple. But that just seemed too foreign and weird. Gmail, it was very cool and simple. And, they gave us a lot of support back then. In 2025, a lot of stuff about Google just took a left turn towards the abyss. It's just a big loss. And if I'm going to say something bad about Google, it's that they made tons of bad decisions. I've used many email programs but Gmail is the best overall and has the best search and spam filtering. The most important feature I really use is the labels feature and that's why I stay with Gmail even though it may not look fancy or even have the latest apps/features.

The number one way to improve your online sales is to make sure that you're not sending any messages that will just sit in your spam folder and therefore never seen by the person who made that decision to buy. That's the most important thing. Make sure that your messages get filtered through and then when you do finally receive a reply you still have that message saved and can send it again the next day if they decide to buy or you have the message that you wanted them to keep on a separate tab.

Agreed, but this is my only "issue" with Gmail. I use it as a client, not an email provider. If the other guys have more issues with gmail, they should have their own clients. You can also mark emails as "read" on gmail, even while the email client is closed.
