According to a report by the BBC, they've been using third party servers to hide the location of the server it uses, which is a violation of their service agreement.

The Verge published an article titled NordVPN just got hacked, and it's embarrassing about the compromise of the company's server. This article reports that the NordVPN servers used the third party servers of a cloud services provider to keep the servers from being found. However, Cloudflare denied having any involvement with the compromised servers and said that they only provide DNS services and nothing else. In fact, the article by the Verge includes a screenshot of the IP address of one of the NordVPN servers. This is the same IP address as the one displayed on the screenshot of the article published by Cloudflare.

So, it appears that Cloudflare has been compromised and is serving up fake data to the end users. It's hard to say for sure that the data is fake since the screenshot provided in the article doesn't actually match the real data. However, the screenshot seems to be coming from a Canadian IP address. Also, the Cloudflare website doesn't seem to list anything about VPN services. We know that Cloudflare is a DNS provider, but this is the first time we've seen a DNS provider get into a security breach like this.

NordVPN is a popular VPN service that we've recommended before. It also had a few hiccups over the past year as well. With this in mind, it seems as though they may have been hacked as well.

This may be bad news for the many people who trust NordVPN and use their services. Since they use their own servers for most of their VPN users, if the servers were compromised, the users would have to change the servers to a new one. This may cause many people to lose their data and have to start all over again with their VPN.

NordVPN's VPN software works on both Windows and Mac. With this reviewer, I tested both macOS Mojave and Windows 10, since I like to use both platforms. Like other VPNs, NordVPN has a simple interface. The user can access settings to view their connection settings.

If the user chooses to enter their logins, they will find a basic list of connections. The connections are broken down into a few categories. Under the Connection Logs menu, the user can also find various settings for their network.
