What does Google stand for?
We like to poke fun at Google, but that's why we're here. The company's been on an incredible run in the past few years with phenomenal results that put them in the top positions in lots of different markets. They have a huge market cap for a company that doesn't produce any physical goods. What do you get if you give Google your email address? A free personalized web experience -- not including ads.
Now, Google has a new initiative called Project Zero to bring down Android with a simple one-tap process. So these days? I mean in addition to collecting email addresses? Android has gotten a lot better over time. But as you'd expect for open source, there are always going to be improvements. A new security issue has cropped up and this can expose your own accounts through social media logins or any similar information like your payment information.
What is Project Zero? It's a project within Google that was launched by Chris DiMarco of Google Project Zero and it aims to improve and mitigate certain issues before they go to production. It's specifically designed for companies that develop software based on Android and it's focused on improving the Android code base in the Android Open Source Project, so that it's more secure. This means you get a lot of things: better security for your device and other apps for Android, and a platform that's better in general to use.
Project Zero will be adding new issues and bugs on a regular basis. In fact, we'll start seeing some on Tuesday (June 13), because I am working on some projects related to security right now.
There are many ways this can hit you, though. Many mobile sites and mobile sites, especially, include social logins, email logins, and maybe a password reset, too. They're often easy to use, because we've all done them a bunch. But they also provide a great opportunity for malicious actors to take over an account. An attacker who obtains your Facebook credentials, for example, would be able to view the accounts you maintain and create profiles with your permissions for Gmail, YouTube, and so forth. And of course, they could gain access to private info, too, like passwords.
This affects users of the Android platform in particular. You may not know that there are about 2 billion active Android devices, and most of them are still running older versions of Android and so might be affected.

What is Image Search?Image Search is a powerful way to search images on the web. You can use it to quickly find images of a specific topic or to get inspired for your next project. When you perform an image search, you see a screen that looks like this:Image Search (on a desktop computer). As you can see, this screen lists all the images that match the search query, either by keyword or image description. You may be asking yourself:Why would Google show me results that are not very relevant? The reason we don't include every single image available is because images that don't have any text associated with them are often misused by people in various ways. For example, some people post pictures that don't have captions on their social media sites, while others may use a picture of themselves in promotional materials. Google Image Search provides a way to find images that are linked with text.
