Is there an ipconfig for Android?

How do I find the IP address of a website on Android?

One of the most basic features I would like to add to my Android app would be a way to find the IP address of a website.

By default there is no way to find the IP address of a site.

Currently when I try and go to it says my current device cannot find www.bbc.co.uk on my computer or it times out.

Does anyone know a way of finding the IP address that will work? And if not, is there some other way to find the IP address of a website on an Android device? I'm using the standard internet view on my tablet. Thank you in advance for any help. EDIT: What I found was a way to use my GPS location and Google Maps to find my IP address. You have to start up Google Maps and navigate to your location, choose Google as your search engine and then search for it by IP.

Re: ? IP's are stored in the network cache of the device. So, they won't be changing. Try an IP based DNS proxy with a caching algorithm like the one at CloudFlare for Android. That might help speed up the process for you.

Well, if you're going to use this solution, please check that you only need the IP address of the site you're trying to visit! We all know that's the IP address of the nearest proxy, but if you use one that's 10km away from you then your requests will still take ages! The IPs can change quite quickly anyway. However, we're now in agreement that if you want the IP addresses of the sites you're viewing, you should be able to do so directly. So here's one method that will find all the websites you've visited since the last reboot of your device: 1) First, download the BrowserHistory application which you can get here: 2) Make sure you only want to download a single apk file, rather than the whole APK! After you've downloaded it, find the app in the app drawer and tap on it.
