How to find server IP address?

I have a web application in my host (ie www.myapp.com) and also I have a server (ie www.com:12345) which is used by the application to run. Both the applications are hosted in the same host.

I am able to access www.com:12345 by opening in the browser.

But when I try to access in the browser, I get connection timed out error. I did lots of googling but couldn't find any way to find out the IP address of the server from the web app. Please help me out. I don't think you need to do anything special to be able to reach the app over your public IP. What you need to do is setup port forwarding on your router to forward requests to 12345 to the app on your computer.

In this case, you would need to open port 12345 on your router's firewall. You may also need to set up your router to forward requests to your machine's public IP address to your local IP address.

If you're running the webapp on a remote machine on the public internet, then it is likely that the webapp is configured to only accept requests from localhost (127.0.1). To change this, you will need to change the app's configuration, so that it listens for requests from the public IP address of the router.

I'd recommend that you read more about what ports are forwarded and how you should configure your router to do this.

How to find IP address location?

I am not able to find this information. I have some websites running from my home in India. From those websites, I am sending e-mails and some mails are coming back. I am getting the source IP address from those emails. How can I find out which country the source IP address is from?
It's a very simple process but requires a little background knowledge. IP addresses are assigned based on a three digit subnet (which may be divided into smaller blocks). So a 192.168.0.x network has the first two numbers as a block of addresses (for example 192.0 - 192.255) and the last two numbers are the subnet (for example 192.0/24 = 24 blocks of 192.

So in this case the source IP address would be 192.100.

These addresses are assigned globally, so all that needs to be known is what the subnet is for the country you are in. The IP address that sent you the email (192.100) could have been sent from anywhere in the world.

To find out the subnet of your current location, use this website: But there are many other sites on the web that do this sort of thing for you.
