The answer is very subjective.

Most professional designers love InDesign, however for someone starting out who's only budget allows them to start off with apps like Microsoft paint, I'll share some of my favorites. Also we've already covered a lot of great design apps for Mac & I don't want to repeat that here. This is definitely a Mac specific article, but just because I love OS X so much I try and find any and all Mac Design tips for every industry imaginable.

I know it's a lot, but trust me, if you're serious about design it's worth it to pick up a graphic design program - it will change the way you approach graphic design and I guarantee that you'll feel a whole new level of creativity. Below are some of the best design apps out there for free and hopefully you can use it all to get your creative side back.
