So it is just me or NordVPN has a really good track record of their customer support?

I have been using their free version for about a year now and have no complaints. But I have been using Proton VPN for the past few months and after a few bad experiences with it, I've had enough. I really want to give NordVPN a go again. I use a Sony Xperia c5403, rooted with superuser and TWRP installed.

Just recently I updated to 5.1 and noticed there was an update available. It was 4.2 and I clicked on the update and it said the update failed and it couldn't finish. I restarted my phone and it went back to 5. It was then that I realized my NordVPN app was still connected. I tried disconnecting it but it just wouldn't let me. It says my data is up to date so I can't disconnect it.

I had to do a factory reset and it was then that I noticed that I couldn't access the VPN app. I could do nothing until I rooted my phone again. Then I did a factory reset and I could finally install the NordVPN app again. This time when I attempted to connect it said it couldn't connect to the server. I uninstalled and reinstalled it but it didn't work either. I have the same problem every time I try to install it now.

And I've used NordVPN for so long. It has always worked great. Now I'm really disappointed. I thought it was a bad experience with ProtonVPN but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. So I'm thinking of switching to NordVPN. Is this a better service or have they had so many bad experiences with customer support that it has ruined their reputation?
