How do I turn off parental controls without password?

As mentioned in my question here on Ask Different, if you're using iTunes or iMovie and having this issue, and you have a computer that has the parental controls turned on without a password, you can still download video, audio, and music to your device.

The steps: Go into iTunes. Go to settings > General. Under "Manage your Apple ID" choose Change Apple ID password. Your Apple ID should be logged in automatically. This will reset your parental controls as if you would if you had logged in.

You may need to go to Settings>General>Accounts>Select your Apple ID (If you have multiple) and choose Sign out. After that, go back to iTunes and your account should be logged in as normal.

It is quite straight forward. Turn off parental controls in iTunes and then start playing your content. When done turn on parental controls in iTunes.

Open iTunes with iTunes open. Go to the Library tab. Select Podcasts from the left pane. Select the podcast you want to remove from this playlist. Click Share. This will cause the song or video to be downloaded to your iPhone or iPad.

What do I do if I forgot my parental control password?

We understand that forgetting your parental control password can be a stressful situation, especially for our families.

We have the following suggestions to help you with this common problem: Have your current online safety passwords ready before calling our office. This will help us get to your family faster. Most kids do not like being put on hold and it causes confusion.

When you call our office, we will get all your passwords and ask if they are correct. If they are wrong, we will have you re-enter them. If you have not updated your passwords since changing them last time, tell us how many new passwords you need.

For those whose password has been forgotten, we can do one of two things - give you a new password, or have the computer reset a new password and then ask you to restart it. Please understand that computers change their master passwords regularly and sometimes forget its original password.

The good news is that these problems are easy to fix. In order for an online safety password to change to access a game, book, photo album, movie, music download, or other site, the game/book/photo album/movie/music download must be closed. Then you log in as usual. We recommend always changing your passwords when your family changes them, and it is a lot easier to change your passwords online than by calling. You will need to know your old password and either the same password or a new one.

Remember, all game access passwords expire every year on your birthday and all site password accounts will be inactive in September of each year. If you forgot your password, no one may ever know.

The first thing we will do is reset your computer/mobile phone. We reset your game/book/photography/videos because someone has been tampering with it or is using it without your knowledge or permission. If you have forgotten your family's internet security password, resetting your device is the best thing we can do for you.
