What is a built-in VPN server?
Is this only available on iOS 11 or is there an Android or Windows version as well?
I do not see it listed in the "Additional Drivers" tab on Windows, but in the Android page it has a checkmark for "Android VPN Server" that indicates the app is compatible. I have not seen one installed on Android yet.
I do not believe this is possible on an iPhone running a previous operating system as it requires a certain form of access to the iOS source code. I just want to make sure before I start hacking. Thanks!
I assume you mean the latest iPhone 8 and above where Apple removed the ability to SSH into your phone through a debug shell. Yes, that's exactly what I meant. There is no way on any pre-iOS 11 device to remotely view/interact with the iPhone software. That is completely by design.
I am sure this is only a matter of time before someone hacks it. The key is how long until someone finds a way. My guess is 10 years from now we will be able to SSH into new devices via a debug mode without Apple removing that ability and that the iOS 10 debug console will still work. But then again, I am not a security expert so this is just a gut feeling.
How do I make my Android phone a VPN server?
I have a question, does anyone know how to make an Android phone a VPN server? I would like to know if it's possible to do this or not and if it is possible how? I don't want to use the internet through my phone as I would then have no connection to the world wide web. My ideal scenario is to create android vpn app that you can run on your phone and access the internet through that phone. Is this possible? If so how would I go about doing it? Thanks for any help, I would really appreciate it. Thanks. Johannes. Hi Johannes. You can create a virtual private network (VPN) connection from your Android phone to your desktop or laptop computer. The main steps to set up a VPN connection are: 1) Add a network connection (Wifi or Ethernet) from your Android phone to your computer. 2) Install the software (called a VPN client) on your computer that will enable you to connect your phone to a VPN. There are several free Android VPN clients available for you to use. Once you have installed the client on your computer, open the settings on your Android phone to configure your Android phone to connect to a VPN.
3) Connect to your computer using your Android phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot and configure your computer to accept VPN connections. 4) Use the internet as if you were connected to a VPN server. If you would like a step-by-step guide to setting up a VPN connection using your Android phone, you can download our detailed guide at www.bestvpn.com/android-vpn-setup-guide/
I haven't done any tutorials yet, but if you'd like me to build a tutorial for you, let me know and I'll put one together. There are a few apps you can use on your Android phone, but it's best to go with either of the two above because they are designed specifically for VPN connections. I'm sure you can find plenty of other apps that will work, but they might not be the best for your needs, or be compatible with your specific phone.

Does Samsung have a built-in VPN?
I am planning on buying a Samsung phone for my wife and I, and was wondering if there is a built-in VPN (if any)? I'd really hate to have to set up one of those paid services when we're already paying for the phone. I am planning on buying a Samsung phone for my wife and I, and was wondering if there is a built-in VPN (if any)? VPN is not what you are looking for. "VPN" means "Virtual Private Network" or "Virtual Private Router". There is nothing special in terms of VPN capability built into the device. You could turn your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot using your existing data plan. Alternatively, you could install a free VPN app, such as TunnelBear, that will encrypt and route your traffic through a VPN server somewhere else.
Can I use my phone as a VPN router?
Yes!
VPN routers give you extra security and flexibility by helping you create a secure, private network for all of your devices. Read about the different types of VPN routers and how they can be used.
How do VPN routers work? By enabling VPN on your router, it creates a secure connection between your device and the internet, so that any traffic (such as emails or web browsing) travels through a secure connection instead of through your ISP's network. This protects your sensitive information and prevents your ISP from spying on what you do online.
Using a VPN router also lets you set up multiple devices or networks on your home network, so you can choose which devices and networks are private and which ones are public. What is a VPN router? A VPN router is a networking device that enables you to use your home network in a more secure and flexible way. How do I use a VPN router? To get started, you need to connect your router to your home network. Follow these steps: Open the Wireless Network Connection Settings on your device and click the "Advanced Settings" button. Turn on the Wireless VPN option. You should see a "Wireless VPN" option now. Click this to connect your device to your router, which will open a new VPN connection.
A prompt will appear on your device to set up your VPN connection. Enter your information and click "Add".
Now you can access the internet through your VPN. You can access content (such as websites and email) that is blocked in your country or region. If you want to access blocked content, you will need to use a virtual private network browser. More information about this is in the Virtual Private Network article.
I can't find "Wireless VPN" under the Advanced Settings. This option is only available on some routers. On some routers you have to enable "Internet Connection Sharing" in the main settings for your wireless connection first.
On your device, go to Settings > Wireless Network > WiFi or WLAN and then select Advanced Settings > Change.
