Does VBScript still work on Windows 10?

What is replacing VBScript?

The question, ?

I am asking this because my company is doing an upgrade from VBScript to ASP.NET/C# and I want to know the benefits of ASP.NET/C# over VBScript.

ASP.NET/C# is not "replacing" VBScript, VBScript is a scripting language just like JavaScript. It's just that ASP.NET is a server side framework for developing web applications. If you were to write a web application using VBScript, the only reason it would be used is if you wanted to use a Microsoft hosted scripting language, such as VBScript.

If your goal is to build a web application, then ASP.NET/C# is a much better choice than VBScript.

You could also use Perl, Ruby, Python, or PHP as your scripting language, but for the most part, ASP.NET is the best option.

There are several scripting languages that can be used to develop web applications. C#, Java, Javascript, etc.

The primary benefit of ASP.NET/C# over VBScript is that you can develop web applications in one language rather than another. For example, you can use C#/ASP.NET to build a website, and then once it's built, you can deploy it without having to recompile and re-deploy the website. You can even use C#/ASP.NET in combination with VBScript to create the UI part of your application.

The other major benefit of C#/ASP.NET is that it's a managed language, so it's very easy to debug and maintain the application. Debugging VBScript code can be a nightmare, as it requires you to manually put breakpoints in your code. Also, there are more tools available to assist in maintaining and debugging your C#/ASP.NET code than VBScript code.

Does VBScript still work on Windows 10?

I recently installed Windows 10 and found that VBScript still works, but only on the Desktop.

I did not do much, I just opened the start menu, typed "script" and it worked without any problems. Does anyone know what could be wrong? VbScript is not supported for windows 10. Microsoft released a new scripting language called VBScript for use with Windows 10: The scripting language of Windows 10 apps is called Windows Script Host (WSH). For VBScript on Windows 10: To ensure compatibility with Microsoft Internet Explorer 10, you need to include the scripting version of the ActiveX control. This requires Internet Explorer 10 on the computer running the script.

The other thing is if you are still using the old VBScript, you may need to change the .vbs extension to .wsc in order to make it work on Windows 10.

Do people still use VBScript?

I read this article yesterday: It talked about the fact that the new ASP.

NET MVC web-app framework supports a scripting language that enables you to do simple, lightweight things on the server side for your web applications. It's a very good suggestion.

I'm wondering if people really use VBScript (other than MSScriptControl in pre-MVC era) for the reasons this article mentions? I'm also thinking the scripting has been moved to the client side. Is that really the case? Thanks. Actually, they aren't suggesting VBScript. They're proposing a scripting language embedded inside ASP.NET MVC views that does some very basic and low-level tasks like reading files, executing SQL statements, etc. The point is that you won't be using VBScript.

This type of thing is why I think it's silly to even consider moving .NET to an alternative runtime. Microsoft has done it in the past and the community wasn't able to sustain it as effectively as .NET has. It would also be very difficult to implement.

What is more important than what technology you use? In my opinion, your focus should be on building your application. Let someone else worry about what technology you chose to run it on. If you start going down that road, you're not focusing on your development efforts. In my opinion, just write software and worry about the platform later. If you worry too much about platform issues, you won't ever ship something.
