Should you go to Times Square at night?
So I've read quite a few people's posts on where to go at night.
We are planning on going with our 2 year old to Times Square at 10pm-ish and I was wondering if that is the absolute best time of the year or not? Also do you have any suggestions on a good family ride hotel in the area? Should I bring toys for the daycare and toys for my son? Thanks! I'd say best time, but not sure. I agree on the best time of year though. The crowds are less. I'm thinking of just sleeping over there or taking a cab into NYC to be closer to the center. But I'd need to know a little better what the area has to offer, ie museums, art galleries, etc.
I really don't think so. It will be pretty crowded, but it's still great because we're having fun together, not thinking about how many times you'll be pushed aside, etc.
If you're interested in learning about New York history as well as the current political and social issues, I highly recommend the American Museum of Natural History in Midtown Manhattan. (And if you're interested in current events and social issues, there's a live performance by The Indigo Girls at 9pm that's definitely worth seeing! ) There are lots of parks and playgrounds, but most are fairly far from Times Square. I'm not sure if any of them have a big playground. I'm not positive, but maybe the Conservatory Garden near Central Park is supposed to be a good one for small children. A lot of kids would probably be more interested in running around to the restaurants and stores downtown than at a park. The city also does have a number of museums that might be interesting. You could search for NYC museums for a list.
I would say the best place to take a family on a day trip to NYC is The Brooklyn Children's Museum. The only issue I would have with Times Square at 10pm, is how much it will cost to park. Also, you may get stuck on a train if you are traveling from the outer boroughs. They have a shuttle to/from Grand Central Station and other spots in midtown. But Times Square is just as busy and crowded in the daytime. Just don't get there on the weekends, unless you really like the atmosphere.
Where is the best view of Times Square at night?
The answer is probably at 42nd and Broadwaybut you need to look at least from the side and not all that much of the street to truly enjoy what New York has to offer.
But where can you go from the front row to see the lights reflecting off Times Square's famous billboards and buildings? With about a year and a half to go, the world is finally taking notice of Times Square's newest attraction: Times Square Live. For those who don't know what they are, Times Square Live was built around the site of the old Port Authority Terminal on West 42nd Street in Manhattan. Now, not only is the Port Authority Terminal back but Times Square Live has been given a large, 1.1-million-square foot space for performances. This means more entertainment for youbut what exactly does Times Square Live mean for my city, New York?
As always, I wanted to reach out to the best minds in the city to tell me what Times Square Live means to them and what it might eventually mean to New York City. Times Square's biggest change since it opened to traffic in 1966 was the addition of a New Year's Eve countdown clock. It's the biggest tradition. And Times Square Live is designed around celebrating it by inviting people to the plaza at the stroke of midnight in 2024.
This isn't about the usual sort of Times Square celebration; this isn't the time-honored tradition of people running through traffic. Times Square Live is entirely new, and it has a mission.
According to Times Square Live's Director of Programming, Alan J. Lewis, the whole reason that we are doing this is so that people are more aware that New York City actually is a live city, and it still has these elements of being an exciting city. Even when you drive through Times Square, you see some of that. Some of it is very old and historic, but most of it now is in a constant state of renewal. This is meant to be a big awareness-building, big message sort of thing.
That mission starts at 9:30 p.m. On New Year's Eve, when Times Square will display a giant sign that will count down the hour to the new year.
Is Times Square a good area to stay?
If you are considering moving to Times Square to find a great job or just get a job in general, then that can be a great choice!
It is a fun and exciting area to live. Many of the best areas to live in New York are in the best neighborhoods so finding a great area to live in is important as you move here. Times Square can be a very unsafe area when walking around on foot by yourself, but if you don't mind the large crowds, then that is a great option!
Times Square is a very crowded place and it can be very difficult to find a quiet place to rest, read your books or just take a walk to find your favorite place to sit by. Times Square is also known for the many strip clubs which does bring a lot of unwanted people into the area. However, the area is very busy and loud with the noise and crowds that come with it. Also, the crowd in Times Square gets very large and is not very easy to deal with if you are a tourist.
People also are very rude and annoying in Times Square and also push you around the square to try to get more of a dollar from you. They also will do this in other major cities and are just a pain in general to most. For these reasons, Times Square isn't considered to be the best location to live in New York City.
Times Square can be a good living area with many different businesses located there. If you work in New York City, then living in Times Square is ideal because they are so many great businesses located right there! You can also find cheap apartments in Times Square that are ideal if you only need to be near the area because Times Square does have many good options for food and other places to live in close to Times Square.
While there are many bad things to Times Square being a great place to live in, there are also things to love about Times Square. Many areas that have amazing businesses to the people that live in those areas is something that can be good to find in Times Square as well. If you look at the right places, Times Square can be a very great area to live in as well.
