How do I print a web page to PDF without cutting it off?
I need to create a PDF of the web page so I can print it out for use in a PowerPoint presentation.
When I choose File, Print, I get a dialog box that says "You can't print the selection because it's from the Web. Click OK to ignore this webpage."
P.S. You might think that I have an adware program on my computer. However, if you want to look into it yourself, here are some websites where you can find out everything there is to know about installing adware on your computer:
Ad-aware.com remove-adware.org removeware.com I believe the link you have provided to support this has been dead for many years. Also the solution of disabling javascript sounds like a bad one as they won't be able to print it.
To do this I find that many printers have web based pdf printing options which allows you to choose the layout of the page, and whether you want the links to be clickable etc. The downside is that you don't get the option of printing things like you can from a typical word document.
If you want to print a large number of documents you might want to get a print server installed on the web server with these options. This saves you from needing to go to your users web browser each time you want to print.
How do I print a scrolling web page as a PDF?
This is probably the most-asked question on this stack, and many search engines also generate it as a top result.
How do I print a web page as a PDF? The method of printing the web page depends on the browser you use. If that doesn't work for some reason, here's an older version of the print dialog that allows a user to choose between printing and making a copy of the current web page. If you'd like to print the page in one go, right-click the Print icon in the upper-left corner of the web page, then select "Print" and a pop-up menu appears. Google Chrome comes bundled with an option in the web page (the little green padlock icon), while Google allows a user to print from Google Chrome through its own printing system. Apple's Safari, Microsoft's Internet Explorer, Opera's proprietary Webkit browser (see below), and all versions of the WebKit browsers that use Apple's Safari engine also come with a "Print" option in their browser menu. In Safari, a user can either choose to print a page and open it in a new window, or print the page as a pdf.
Here's the official Print dialog. The dialog shows all links to pages on the current web page (with its URL underlined) and provides a dropdown menu that lets the user change the pages that are printable. To print a web page, click Print to open the dialog, then "choose pages to print". To go straight to printing, just click on "Print".
Opera has its own built-in way of printing, but no link to this feature, so it's better to print a web page by going to the Page menu and selecting Print. Then click on the "Print" button.
How do you convert a web page to a PDF?
There are a number of commercial products that will do the job.
There is one free tool you can use:
I'm not suggesting that you spend money on a product from any software vendor. No need to pay for something you can get free. But what I am saying is if you are looking for an inexpensive solution, you might as well not spend any money at all. You can save money and do things yourself if you are willing to put in the effort.
I would think this to be quite difficult as we have seen how often PDFs come with ads embedded. Also, we have seen how easy it is to just download a free PDF converter and save a page or pages to the desktop.
