Which IDE is best for Selenium with Python?

I've been using IDEs (eclipse) for Java and Ruby development. I'm looking for a good IDE for Python programming. Which IDE is best for Selenium with Python?

The official "official" answer is Eclipse with PyDev plugin. There are several python plugins available for eclipse. If you want to know the best way to use selenium with python you will need to use the pytest framework. It makes it very easy to write automated tests in python. I can't vouch for it's speed though as I haven't used it. I also haven't used it for writing tests so you might find better answers on the pytest mailing list.

Is Python Selenium easy to learn?

I have been using python for some time now and love the language.

However, it seems to me that the documentation is poor and I feel like I need to read a book just to get started.

I am asking this because I can't find any online courses on the topic of Selenium testing. When I search for them I only see courses that cover the basics of programming.

So my question is: Is Selenium testing in Python a breeze? Can you teach a duck to fly using this technology? Is Selenium testing as easy to learn as PHP? Selenium is not that hard to learn, but be careful about it. As always, it's not about the language itself, but about the right usage of the features that the language offers.

The good thing is, that you don't need to learn everything all at once, but instead you can learn only the things you are interested in. If you want to do full-fledged web development and have a deeper understanding of programming, you have to start with a programming language like Java, C# or Ruby. In my opinion, Selenium is great for automating basic tasks in web browsers. There is no need to learn Selenium to do web development. You could learn some web development techniques in parallel, but then you would not use Selenium anymore.

I do not know a good online course on Selenium. Maybe SeleniumHQ has something on their website.
