Is PyCharm a free IDE?
As I just recently started PyCharm, I'd like to share with you all my experience so far.
If you're new to PyCharm too, my advice is to not start with a big project like a game or a GUI application because PyCharm will make you frustrated. I've tried using PyCharm for learning Python by going over tutorial after tutorial and I had no clue what was going on. So if you're starting off with PyCharm for the first time, I hope my experiences will help you.
Here's what I've been doing: Installed PyCharm (). Installed Python 3.8.1 and the Anaconda distribution
Downloaded the Kivy version of pygame-1.9.2-cp38m-winamd64.whl which contains Python bindings for the latest release of pygame-1.
Create a folder called kivy for storing our Kivy files. Now we will be downloading and installing Kivy: Kivy downloads: We need to run the command that is provided, which will download and install kivy for us. Please don't click on the Run button in the window that opens up, we just need to read the text on the screen to know that this has finished successfully. If you see a warning box telling you to restart your computer then do it.
After the download and installation finishes, we will have a folder called kivy/build, which is the location where Kivy will build its code. We'll be using this folder to store all of our Kivy files, including our .kv files and our .py files.
Kivy installation finished successfully. Click 'Next' to start installation.
You are about to install kivy.local/bin. You can choose to select different location, as well as customise the installation details. Click 'Next' to continue.
You need to accept the EULA, then click 'Next' to continue.
