What is the quickest I can get a passport?
To receive an appointment as soon as possible: Use the contact us form on the Contact Us page.
Use the Contact Us Form: If you have recently moved to or relocated to another part of Canada, you can help make it easier for Immigration Canada to get you started in Canada quickly by using the Contact Us page on this web site. If you are relocating from outside of Canada to Canada, your contact information must be entered into the Contact Us form. The quickest way to process your application is to use the Contact Us form. In most cases, completing the form in its entirety (using a paper copy) will reduce the processing time to about 30 days. By completing the form you indicate that you accept conditions 1 and 3 of the Canadian Experience Class Criteria (see About Your Canadian Experience for more information). In some cases it may take up to 6-12 months from the date of submitting the contact us form, to receive an appointment as a new resident.
You must complete this form: In addition to filling out the form, you must take the following actions by a certain date: 1) Register with the Local Immigration Partnership for the Region that you are moving to. Contact details for all of the local Immigration Partnerships are listed in our Canadian Experience Class Guide under Local Immigration Partnerships. This is available for viewing at the bottom of the page.
2) If you are in Alberta or British Columbia, register with the Partnership of Alberta and/or the Partnership of Greater Vancouver. Contact details for these Immigration Partnerships are listed in the Canadian Experience Class Guide.
3) Apply for a work permit (if you are employed). Contact details for this are listed in the Canadian Experience Class Guide under Work Permits for Foreign Workers.
Once you register, Immigration Canada will send you a confirmation letter that your request has been submitted. 4) Appear at the Regional Immigration Partnership office and follow the same process as Step 1.
Can I go to NY passport agency without appointment?
A lady with my name and last name applied for NY passport and has been waiting for 4 months.
She called yesterday and said that they would open on Saturday after a few weeks. I don't want to wait any longer. Can I go to the passport agency without appointment? I have an emergency (family problem).
In what part of NYC do you want to go? Are you trying to say if you can walk right up to the place on Times Square and not be let in or are you saying you live out of the city and you'll need an appointment from someplace near the borough you want to go? I've looked at your other question which was resolved. I'm having difficulty reading the details of the earlier post. You've explained your situation and that information makes sense. If you'd be willing to share the borough your lady applied in, you may be able to go without appointment because the passport agency is located at one in all 5 boroughs so as a guess I'm guessing Manhattan, but that's only a guess. I do know there's a New York City Passport office at 2170 Broadway at 52nd street. It's been some years since I've been inside but I know they can deal with passport applications. So maybe she needs to ask if you could go to one in the area.
You can contact the office at 212-873-9200 to make an appointment, but if she just shows up at their office in the street, not even a security guard will know if she has an appointment or not. If you have an emergency then I'd call the office before going to another borough. This answer is for questions like "What is my travel date? If you need to submit a document to the Passport Office then you need to have an appointment or the document will be rejected. The answers to these questions depend on many factors. Your lady applied at 8:00 AM and when she called it was 4:45 PM. She might have an appointment for the next day. The Passport Office usually operates from 9:30AM until 3:30PM on weekdays except for Friday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day when it closes earlier. But you don't know when the office will open on the weekend. What we do know is that the Passport Office opens at 9:30 AM.
How do I book an appointment for my passport?
Your original passport will be collected and destroyed once a new appointment has been made.
This usually takes place as part of the processing of your new appointment. Your passport is not used as evidence.
Will I have to provide proof of my identity during my new appointment? Yes, upon entering for your new appointment you must show: a photo ID proving your identity. If this is not possible, show photo ID of a third party confirming your identity. For a visa application for the Philippines you may need to provide an original utility bill or bank statement that verifies your ownership of the property for which you are seeking entry for, as well as an agreement from the property owner for you to occupy it and that you plan to leave upon completion of the visit. The fee for issuance of the utility bill or bank statement is not included in the Philippine visa application package price but please be aware that the Philippine Embassy or Consulate may impose a surcharge for providing that proof of identity information. Fees to be paid directly to the Embassy.
