Does NordVPN have a SOCKS5 proxy?

Can I use SOCKS5 with VPN?

I have a server that I'd like to be able to use for VPN connections.

It has a public IP address of something like 65.123.45.67 and a VPN IP address of something like x. I've set up a connection in Windows 7 to use the SOCKS5 proxy (which is running on the same server). I've verified the connection works fine, and I can browse to all the internet using the server's IP address. However, when I try to open a webpage, the proxy fails to connect and instead of connecting to the proxy, it tries to connect to the server's IP address. I know I could use a different proxy for my VPN, but I'd prefer to use the proxy that's already set up. Is there any way to get the proxy to work with my VPN connection?

I've tried everything I can think of and nothing has worked. I've tried setting the proxy type to SOCKS5, I've tried setting it to the VPN IP address, I've tried leaving it alone, and I've even set the proxy type to a specific SOCKS5 proxy. It always connects to the proxy when I try to browse the internet and it always connects to the server's IP address when I try to open a webpage. I just need to be able to browse the internet using the proxy, and then use the VPN connection to connect to my VPN provider's website when I need to do so.

The proxy is using the IP address of my VPN connection. If I try to use the SOCKS5 proxy, I can't browse the internet at all. It always connects to my server's IP address. I tried to use the IP address instead of the proxy's IP address, and that doesn't work either.

I'm not sure what the problem is. It seems like all the websites should be able to see the SOCKS5 proxy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does NordVPN have a SOCKS5 proxy?

A couple of days ago, a user reported that they weren't able to connect to the NordVPN service.

The reason? When connecting to websites through NordVPN, it seems that NordVPN doesn't support SOCKS 5 proxy.

When you first try to connect, it may just work. However, if you want to access certain websites, say the site (the website of the Tor Project), you will be blocked when you access it through NordVPN. If you use the NordVPN mobile app and change the connection type from regular to proxy, you can still access the site

NordVPN does not have any official statement about this issue yet, we contacted them and ask for an official statement and for help in troubleshooting this issue. We can confirm this isn't an issue with our own service. I have no idea why you aren't connecting, but the solution is pretty easy: If you are using NordVPN for desktop-only clients, change the service type on the server configuration to Dedicated IP. That will make NordVPN only connect to your own PC/laptop, and allow you to connect to the NordVPN server directly.

Of course, if you're using NordVPN for a mobile client, your phone will also still connect to the NordVPN service directly. If you are having other issues with NordVPN (the servers are overloaded, for example), please let us know. In the mean time, please let us know whether you're still having the issue, and if so, how you were able to solve it.

Can I use NordVPN as a proxy server?

Yes, that's what it was designed for.

We have many customers in the government and other fields using NordVPN as a web proxy for accessing blocked sites without having to use an alternate proxy software.

However if you are a consumer with a consumer grade device, then VPN is not the correct solution. We do however provide a free trial to verify if we can successfully log in to your device.

Can I use NordVPN as a VPN server? Unfortunately, VPN is not included with this package. Can I use NordVPN for multiple devices at the same time? No. Only one device at a time.

Can I get support from NordVPN? If you are a happy customer and have been a customer for a while, then likely we will be able to provide extended support to you. If you just opened a new account and have yet to establish a rapport, then you will probably be on your own. Are there any plans to provide support? The reason why people come to us is that they don't have anything else to turn to. There is no free NordVPN subscription plan or plan that comes with tech support. So while we see a lot of requests for support, that does not mean that NordVPN is prepared to give something for nothing.

Does NordVPN do anything special to ensure that my privacy is kept secure? NordVPN uses regular encryption that is widely available on the web. We do not monitor any of your connection traffic.

But what do I need to get started? What kind of device can I use with NordVPN? If you are using Windows then it is the best. If you are using Mac or Linux then NordVPN does not work. You will need to use Android, iPhone or Blackberry and these have access to the VPN software that we build in.

I have already bought NordVPN. Can I use it again to add another device or is it sold? The package comes with one subscription per email address, so only the first user to sign up with that email address will ever get it. Once they finish their subscription the license key will not work again until you buy a new license.
